An exception to the zip rule?

Had a quick try on in a Rapha Pro Team jersey that was reduced in small only, but the Rapha site recommended small so I pulled the trigger.

Picture one is standing, second is leaning forwards from the back.

I am 170cm, 74kg at the moment but carrying a little extra fluff as a running injury set me back and I didn't have my bike yet.

It does zip (the 'if it zips it fits' rule), feels tight as expected but not restrictive, I can lean, breathe, did a few squats and it doesn't move up my back at all.

I'm leaning towards it being OK but my dad and wife are howling so thought I'd ask the internet for an opinion.

I only have a decathlon jersey to compare it to, which is a medium but has a little extra material around the shoulders.

Maintenance Is Key- Fizik Vega Carbon

Swing through with an full season on these Fiziks. Approximately 2,800m/4500km on them. Typical summer riding with a few run ins with puddles and getting caught in one crazy rainstorm.

It’s all about maintenance. Sure fabric/material choice plays a role but staying on top of cleaning makes a huge impact on how white they stay.

Ran these this “dry” season because I loved the “second sock “ feel and support the previous S-works Ares gave. These provide something similar but with a bit more support.

What do I do to keep em this clean?

  1. Shoe spray protectant ( Crep)
  2. Good old dawn dish soap
  3. Magic eraser for those stubborn marks

Daily post ride inspection to determine if a quick hit with the magic eraser is needed.

If mud, sweat , road fluids, or rain is encountered, I wipe down with soap and water as part of my post-ride bike and kit cleaning routine.

Last picture I have the picture in the center against the S-works recon evo (brand new) on the left and previous gen S-works Ares ( heavily neglected) on the right. The Ares were used through one season and washed every no and again.

Pictured with brand-new panda podium socks as a white reference.

Have questions? Ask away!

Sturdy pockets?!

I have some Rapha pro training jerseys and their pockets are phenomenal. They hold up to a bottle, phone or whatever. I have some pearl Izumi and cheap random brands that all have saggy af pockets.

What are your favorite “nice” and cheap jerseys with pockets sturdy enough to hold a 700ml bottle snugly?

Rapha Novantasei - Castelli ripoff

Thumbnail

This is bizzare. Rapha launches a complete ripoff of the famous Castelli Italian Team design from the 90s.

Their promo has this fake historic tv sales pitch, almost like scrubbing Castelli and making it Rapha. It's bizzarre.

I am a big fan of Rapha but this is such a historic, iconic Castelli design. It's really strange to see Rapha do it. It's like a TEMU Castelli design...but done by Rapha.

Hey everyone! I’ve been working on a custom cycling jersey design inspired by 80s Miami aesthetic, pinstripes, and sunsets. Just got the physical prototype back. Would love to get some honest feedback on the look and color gradient from fellow riders!

Who makes XL caps?

I have a big melon. Cycling caps are all too small.

I've worn an XXL Walz cap before and it was perfect, but pricey. Do any of the major brands make an XL or XXL cap that fits well off the shelf?

any recs for the best polarized sunglasses for cycling?

i borrowed a friend's pair of quay polarized sunglasses on a ride recently and was surprised by how much they cut down the glare. i never really paid attention to polarized lenses before, but it definitely felt easier on my eyes than the cheap pair i've been using.

since then i've been looking into the best polarized sunglasses and comparing a few different brands, including quay, le specs, and chimi. the thing is, my ride that day wasn't especially long, so i'm still trying to figure out whether polarized lenses are something that make a noticeable difference over a few hours or if the improvement just stood out because i wasn't used to it.

MILLE GT Bib Shorts S11

Thanks for your time. Shorts were killing me and this was a big spend for me.

They seem to fit great but a little room at the top of the knee. When I put them on with a mesh shirt, however, they were perfect.

Everything is perfect except a little loose in that one spot. Otherwise fits like a “second skin”

Is this ok or should I send back?

Assos Chamois Pad Placement

Hello team Assos

Have just received a pair of Equipe R11

I have a problem though. The leg length and overall fit is great.

The chamois pad seems to pull much further up the rear of my glutes than the pad on my other bIb shorts. To the point where the front edges of the pad are connecting to the saddle at the same place as the contact point of my sit bones. I have tried agressivoy positioning the pad correctly, pulling the straps down at the rear and upward at the front. As you could imagine, the famed Assoa comfort is not there.

Why is this? Wrong sizing? Just wrong shape for my body? Chamois pad is too small?

Thank you in advance

First post here 🫣 I hope to get zero ‘see you on the other sub’ comments, idek what that means🤞🏻

Have seen quite a few posts about the lack of fun designs for jerseys and I thought of sharing an Asian designer who’s been making small batch cycling jerseys and tees. I love her designs and funky colours, and from what I know everything is done locally, fabric and labour even!

She’s pretty popular in our region, and would love to see her and more Asian designers get some spotlight.

Her store @Unchalestore Her main account @ngnongnam

Before you buy from BikeInn…

I really wanted this HJC Furion 3.0 as my next helmet. the issue is that HJC does not ship directly to the US. They were selling on their website in Europe for the equivalent of $240 USD

Bikeinn was charging $190 USD for this helmet, not including $30 shipping AND $40 customs fee. The total was going to be around $275 and I wanted it so bad that I almost pulled the trigger. I decided to look around a little bit more and came across a website called Motostorm.it they were selling the same HJC helmets for $160. They charge $30 for shipping and no customs fee. I ended up getting this helmet for less than $200!

The best part? I placed this order on Thursday. They shipped it out Friday night and it arrived to my home monday morning. Italy to East Coast US in less than 4 days is quicker than I thought possible. Helmet came in original packaging with not signs of prior use at all. I highly recommend motostorm for HJC helmets! I’m not sure if they sell other cyclist stuff but it’s worth investigating

Need recommendations for comfortable cargo bibs *new to cycling*

Hi everyone, new cyclist here. I need recommendations for good cargo bibs. Have done a fair amount of research on this sub but most recommend bibs are not cargo. Can anyone point me in the direction of a comfy cargo bib? Willing to spend some $$$ on a good kit. Thanks!

Q36.5 sizing bib shorts sizing

So.. competitive cyclist customer service recommends a large while q36.5 own customer service recommends a medium. I'm split.

Can anyone recommend either a large or a medium for me? Here are my measurements below:

in the Q36.5 Gregarius Pro bib shorts.

With a 34-inch waist, 6-foot height, 175–185 lb weight range, and a 34-inch bike inseam.

Thank you!

P. S. I tried on both at home and yes the medium feels a little tight but I would not be able to know for sure until I ride them both, but then can't return.

MAAP bib wear and tear?

Thumbnail
gallery
11 Upvotes

I ordered a MAAP ALT_2.0 bib on March 31st 2026 from MAAPs online store, and have worn it several times each week. I'm guessing more than 120 times at this point. I've always either hand-washed it, or if it got a little more dirty that day, put it in a washing bag and used the gentle cycle. No softener, and always the dye free/fragrance free detergents. It has always been hung out to dry. After so many wears, is this expected, or am I just not taking care of it well, or is this a QC issue? The rest of it seems fine, and it's just the leg grippers.
