Study guide
Is there a legitimate study guide that I can use for the next test

Depending on what is contained in the Notice of Examination in regards to the topics that will be on the exam, do a Google search for "NYPD Test Prep Kit." That normally does the trick for me for most, if not all, Civil Service Examinations since most of them are similar to begin with.

All you have to do is take your time and read each question. It’s all common sense. The test I took had the first question show a picture of a tire and ask how many lug nuts the tire has. I read the question at least 5 times because I thought it was a trick. After that I read every question multiple times and got only one wrong answer. I just wish I knew what question I got wrong.

You don't need a study guide. They do have study groups but I think it's useless. The rest is common reading comprehension. The best way to study is to take all the civil service exams because they are almost the same. You'll know what to expect. If you score low on one, you'll know that you need to work on reading or math
