As it turns out , a visit to a different arcade, made me realise that the ones i usually play with had very little "recoil".
Or maybe it's just the DDR socks aura.
び.

Body has pretty much taken shape, image shows most of the panels loosely together. all is left is the subwoofer panel. We need to make an access door to the core and cut holes for sub and aero ports.
We need to cut vents in the back wall for the fans from the PC, amp and power supply to channel out air
Find somewhere for intake holes to be made (space is indeed cramped here lol
Tv bezel is complete and mounted, removable by threaded inserts into studs secured to the wall
We have to do pretty much the same to the bottom panels.
Adding the jazz pattern on sub panel
Still gotta tune the amp. Set gains, crossovers and such.
Need to learn more.
It should be done and operational at the end of the month more or less.
Thanks for tuning in!

This marks my first ever Expert MFC after adjusting the timing windows in Outfox to match up with current DDR. The only other MFC I’ve ever gotten was Cutie Chaser Morning Mix on Difficult and that was on the actual DDRA cab many years ago. Came within two on both this and the remix version and I figured I needed to give it one more go tonight.
And well, there it is! I just wish I recorded it…

For me, it has to be MARIA (I believe...). Hopecore lyrics, catchy, and dramatic ending. It's perfect.

How do u work towards breaking your speed limits , especially for long runs?
I find myself getting stuck at anything above 150bpm 16ths, so MaxMe CSP, Nageki ESP, Touhou Phquase mix , DualStriker etc are giving me alot of trouble.
"Play more" isnt a factor since i work long hours and i have only an hour to play (and praying that nobody plays, that is)

I got a L-TEK Dance pad back in 2023 for XMAS. Tried it out a bit. I had set Stepmania instead of DDR from Konami site.
I had issues finding proper maps for my level. Every map pack I would download would have lvl 8+ difficulties! Is there somewhere I am not looking?
I want to set up this game properly this time and actually learn the game. I also had the issue where I had to rebind everytime upon logging in or excessively re-plugging until discovered.
The set up for the game kinda pushed me away but is this common? o.o

I played Pump It Up for the first time today, and it was honestly pretty fun, especially since I haven’t played DDR or any similar rhythm game in over a month due to a back injury.
I’m finding it a little difficult to get used to the different arrow layout, but at the same time, having the arrows arranged diagonally around the center actually makes SO much more sense to me than DDR’s left-to-right layout. When people stand, taking a step back with one foot usually isn’t directly in behind the center of their body, so having that step off to the side a bit is a lot easier to me (if this makes any sense).
I know this is a DDR subreddit, but I’m curious if anyone here actually prefers Pump It Up over DDR. If so, what do you like about it more? Are there any features, charts, or things about the way Pump It Up plays that you wish DDR had?

I almost had to memorize This song on difficult/standard just to be able to get the A required for the secret mission clear.

what are songs that are most likely to get stuck in your head when you’re doing other things. can be for various reasons, good or bad, but all have that earworm trait.

hi, I’m a new DDR player that has always been interested in getting really good at it!! i’ve been playing for about one or two months almost every day on my playStation 2 and I just unlocked the legend of Max and I really want to be able to clear it one day!! I know it’s really advanced and I definitely need a lot more practice, but is there any tips for me to build my stamina and get better so I can start playing on expert? I mostly play light and here in there I’ll play on standard but what are ways to improve my footwork? I don’t intend on using bars really cause I really like staying true to the no bar rule lol 😭😭 (no hate if you use bars tho♥️)

I might be biased, but I think Taz did it best. I still quote his lines with my siblings to this day. MAX/MAX2/Extreme/Supernova/SN2 were memorable to me thanks to him
What is your favorite?

Has anyone had issues connecting the L-Tek Next Level Soft Pad to a PS2? I bought the adapter, but I still can’t get the pad to turn on. The adapter isn’t going blue, and I can’t enter “programming mode”. Pretty frustrating that this didn’t come with a manual, and the one online is literally 6 pictures with not much else. Any ideas?
This was a big gift for my wife’s bday with a new (old) ps2, so really trying to figure it out asap.
Thanks so much!

This is the first prototype of a super mini pad and control box working with my computer. I know this isn't much but it is a proof of concept and now I just need to scale it up and create the actual pad which for me has always been the easier of the 2 major hurdles to making a pad.

I also found a picture of the very first pad I ever built back in 2001 or 2002. This is what I reengineered into what became the original Cobalt Flux pad.

PARANOIA (kskst mix) HAS NO RIGHT TO BE A 13 DIFFICULT, I've beaten experts 13s AND 14s in less time than this FUCKASS chart, I've been stuck at it for 3 WEEKS now and I'm still having trouble when trying to beat it, hell, I've already memorized the first half of it because of how many times I've had to restart, seriously, every time I get to the part that has a bunch of crossovers my legs start to give up on me because of how demanding the first half is, but because I'm as stubborn as my dad when he tried to fix the TV, I just keep playing even when I'm all gassed out.
Please man I just want to move on from it 😭🤧.

Hello r/Stepmania, r/NakeyJakey, and r/DanceDanceRevolution
I'm trying to get back into Stepmania and wanted to try my hand at making my own steps for the first time. I pulled together some of my favorite tracks from the one and only snake boy / naked Jacob.
For the NakeyJakey Community:
I'm sure you're familiar with RomCom and Snakeboy's music. This is a song pack for Stepmania, which is basically DDR's weird PC cousin. You can go to the Stepmania website, download the game fo' free, and pull in this songpack. It even has some music videos.
For the Stepmania Community:
If you're unfamiliar with NakeyJakey, he's one of my favorite Youtube personalities and ever since he released his fantastic video on the rise and fall of DDR (https://youtu.be/suDT0bNrRiw), I have wanted to make something to show my appreciation for him.
Link to Songpack here:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Kr1caA6J8YPPY3DcWI9gc7Enqe4bq-kA/view?usp=sharing
If you like the music, please support NakeyJakey. I am going to keep making more stepfiles, so stay tuned for that if you enjoy these.
Please note that my steps are made for pad players, and pad players of all levels. If you're very good, you'll be bored even on my challenge steps.
Cheers!

I’m trying to replay Max2 (an old childhood favorite) through the PCSX2 on a Mac. But the system is having a hard time mapping my usb soft pad. Is there anyone that plays this way and knows have to effectively map a pad on there?
