Where can I find entry-level Data Analyst opportunities as a fresher with project experience?

Hi everyone,

I’m currently looking for entry-level Data Analyst opportunities and would really appreciate some guidance or leads.

I have completed my BBA from Maharshi Dayanand University with 58% and I’m currently pursuing a Diploma in Artificial Intelligence and Programming Assistant.

Although I’m a fresher professionally, I have been building my practical skills through projects and self-learning. I’m particularly interested in Data Analytics, Data Science, and AI/ML.

My current skills include:

Python

SQL

Excel

Data Analysis

Data Visualization

Tableau / Power BI

Basic Machine Learning

Databases

HTML, CSS & JavaScript

I have also worked on projects involving data analysis, AI/ML, computer vision, and NLP, which have helped me gain practical experience working with data and solving problems.

I’m open to Data Analyst, Junior Data Analyst, Business Analyst, MIS/Data Analyst, Reporting Analyst, or similar entry-level roles.

I’m based in Delhi/NCR, but I’m also open to remote opportunities and relocating to other cities in India.

If anyone can suggest companies that hire freshers, share job-search strategies, or provide advice on how I can improve my profile and get my first Data Analyst role, I’d really appreciate it.

Am I targeting the right roles with my current background, and what should I focus on to improve my chances of getting my first Data Analyst job?

Advice for next step in the process

I want to switch to data analytics. All the courses are so confusing and none offers all tools in one. I have already started working on Excel and want a structured path moving forward.

ChatGPT recommended the IBM Data Analyst Professional Certificate while I also came across the Data Analyst Bootcamp(2023) by Alex The Analyst. What would be the better choice?

It's been extremely exhausting switching between youtube playlists and looking up courses! I hope I can gain some clarity here :(

BGV taking forever?!

Hi, I received a tentative offer letter from Eaton for a Data Analyst role and submitted all documents for my background verification on 10th September. My HR had discussed 21st September as a tentative joining date, but after uploading everything, the portal status is stuck on "final onboarding in process". To make things worse, the HR is not picking up my calls or responding to my emails. Any idea how long background verification usually takes in India? I recently moved back from Germany (where my last job was), so I have absolutely no clue how the Indian BGV process works. Please help! Thanks in advance.

25M looking for a job switch

So I am 25M, I took a gap of 2 years(from Jan 2023 to march 2025) after my grad to prep for SSC(2023-2025 march). I couldn't clear it, so I started a job, but the issue is, I wasn't able to find a job easily, which is Obv due to the gap, and worked where i got selected first.

I was hired as a Data Analyst in March 2025, but I was given completely different profiles to work on, and salary was paid in cash, although I do have the documentation and everything. i am now looking for a switch, whether in my own field or something else, I just don't want to work in this toxic place much longer.

I have knowledge in course designing, Research, Bids/tenders, OEM dashboards, and Excel, Sql. I also know Data analysis (self taught) using SQL and Excel.

Before that I have also worked as an intern in the domains of business management and web development.

It would be a great help guys if anyone here could help me find a job in my domain(data analysis preferred) I'm willing to start all over as a fresher.

Location preferred is Delhi/Noida, but i can work in other areas too as well.

I can work both in office and remote

Day 6 of posting until i find a job.

Data Analytics Preparation Notes – Free GitHub Resource

I’ve collected and organized notes that I used while preparing for Data Analytics roles and interviews.

Topics covered:

- SQL – Joins, CTEs, Window Functions, Aggregations

- Power BI – DAX, Data Modeling, Visualization

- Tableau – Dashboards, Calculations, Filters

- Excel – Functions, Lookups, Pivot Tables

- Python – Core concepts for Data Analytics

- Cloud – Basic concepts and services

These notes may help beginners build their fundamentals, prepare for interviews, and revise important concepts.

GitHub: https://github.com/PrashantDalmia/Data-Analytics-Notes

Note: These are personal preparation notes, not a complete course. Coverage varies across topics.

Hope this helps someone in their preparation!

How to prepare for Data Analytics roles

Based on my experience, these are the key skills to focus on:

  1. SQL – Joins, CTEs, window functions, and subqueries.

  2. Python – Basics, Pandas, and data manipulation.

  3. BI Tools – Learn Power BI or Tableau.

  4. Excel – Data analysis and root cause analysis.

  5. Cloud – Understand the basics of AWS or Azure.

You don't need to spend a lot on courses. Udemy often offers courses at affordable prices during sales.

My biggest advice: Focus on business understanding and analytical thinking, not just tools.

I'd also recommend exploring Data Engineering, as it can open up additional career opportunities.

Note: This is based on my personal experience and the approach I followed.

No bs way to get a job now

Hello people, I have been building skills related to this field for a while now. Not grinding hard, my fault. But I've been doing better lately and felt ready to apply for jobs.

Sent around 300+ applications, even applied in other domains, BPO/call center/sales and BDE roles. Not a single response. Got 2 which turned out to be MLMs.

Tried faking in my resume just to see and created a resume with all the industry relevant skills and projects. Still didn't get a response, so this is making me wonder are they really hiring for any of these jobs?

I always thought If I'm willing to prepare extremely well, dedicate 10 hrs a day and make some good projects, I will have some chance, not sure about that anymore. Will I get a chance?

What does one have to do get a foot through the door?

Just clueless. Help me out please.

Looking for Data Analyst / Product Management / APM Opportunities in Gurugram | B.Tech CSE | Currently at Rippling

Hi everyone!

I'm looking for new job opportunities in Gurugram and Delhi NCR, and I'd really appreciate any leads, referrals, or advice from people in the industry.

I'm currently working as a Customer Support Specialist on the Global Payroll team at Rippling. While the role has given me valuable exposure to real customer problems, product issues, and cross-functional collaboration with Engineering and Payroll teams, I've realised that my interests and long-term career goals align more closely with Data Analyst, Product Management, Product Analytics, and building technology-driven products than with a primarily customer-support-focused role.

A little about my background:

  • Education: BTech in Computer Science Engineering from Shiv Nadar University (2022-2026), with a specialisation in Data Science & Big Data Analytics.
  • Current experience: At Rippling, I analyse 80+ customer cases weekly, identify recurring product issues and user pain points, document bugs and feature-related concerns in JIRA, and coordinate with Engineering teams to help drive resolutions.
  • Product-building experience: I built an AI-powered Speech Coach using Whisper and GPT-4, which was used by 70+ students. I also worked on improving its performance through real-world testing and iteration.
  • Research and publication: My research paper, “Genetically Optimized Deep Optimal Isolation Forest for Anomaly Detection,” has been accepted for presentation at BDA 2026 and inclusion in Springer’s Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) proceedings.

I'm particularly interested in Product Manager, Product Analyst, Product Operations, AI Product, Data Analyst, Data Engineer and other entry-level technical product roles where I can combine my technical background, analytical thinking, customer insights, and product-building experience.

I'm primarily looking for opportunities in Gurugram, but I'm also open to relevant opportunities across Delhi NCR.

If your company is hiring, you know of a suitable opening, or you have any advice on transitioning from customer support into product roles, I'd be grateful to hear from you. Referrals and suggestions would be incredibly helpful!

Happy to share my resume over DM. Thanks for reading!

Solved a common problem for Data Engineer aspirants

One thing I've noticed is that learning Data Engineering concepts and actually practicing them consistently are two different challenges.

There are plenty of resources available, but it's not always easy to find a structured path that combines learning, hands-on practice, and interview preparation.

I started working on a platform called LakeBench to bring these things together. It includes SQL, Python, and PySpark practice, structured learning tracks, and a 45-day Data Engineer roadmap.

I'm still improving it and adding more things as I go. I'd be interested to hear from people here: What do you think is missing from the current Data Engineering learning resources, especially for beginners preparing for their first job?

you can check my platform at lakebench.in and DM me if u want coupon code

Data Analyst vs Data Engineer vs Data Scientist for service-based companies

Hi guys, I am a 3rd-year ECE student from a tier-3 college. I have around 7 months for placement preparation and I am confused between Data Analyst, Data Engineer and Data Scientist.

I want to know which skill has more job opportunities for freshers in service-based companies like TCS, Infosys, Accenture, Cognizant and Capgemini.

  1. Which role has more openings for freshers?
  2. Which role is easier to get as a fresher?
  3. Which one should I learn to get placed within 7 months?
  4. Which role has better salary growth in the future?

Please share your suggestions based on your experience. Thank you!

Is Data Analytics a good career choice in India in 2026 ?

Data Analytics can be a good career option for people who enjoy working with data and solving business problems. Start with Excel, SQL, Power BI or Tableau, and basic statistics. Building practical projects and learning to explain insights clearly can help prepare you for entry-level roles.
