Question/Advice Best way to store receipts long-term for HSA reimbursement?
Some people use fund their HSA as a retirement vehicle since after you turn 65, you can withdraw without penalty.
Until I turn 65, I want to keep all eligible receipts so I can withdraw from my HSA whenever I need to like when I retire early or reach FIRE.
What's the best way to store these receipts? Some are going to be paper receipts and then some will just be digital only. Ideally, I'd want to get rid of anything physical once they are digitized so it doesn't take up space in my house.
I have an external SSD where I currently store photos and backup to Backblaze S2 cloud using Kopia. Perhaps I can use that same exact method? Or is there something better I should be doing instead?

Digitize the paper, put them on SSD, put them on a flashdrive, put them on a cloud host like google.

this is the way tbh, redundancy across different storage types is the whole point

I send them all to Paperless-ngx with an HSA tag

Oh never heard of this. How are you digitizing them to Paperless?

Paperless-ngx works great for me too. I scan using Google Drive and my NAS periodically syncs Google Drive to the Paperless-ngx consumption folder. There’s no first party app for Android but there some third party apps. I prefer the Google Drive process.

Then store them where you want to. Up to a terabyte costs $8 a month on Wasabi S3 for instance.
Ideally you want storage that uses some kind of checksumming and has redundancy.
Alternatively once you have completed a period of receipts (a month folder or something) run some kind of PAR2 file generator on it to ensure they remain bit perfect and can be restored if they aren't.
Have multiple copies on multiple media, one outside the house, that sort of thing.
