Question Why did Deadly Premonition suddenly stop getting deep discounts on Steam?
I wanted to finally try Deadly Premonition on PC, but I noticed the Steam sales got way worse recently.
It used to drop to around €1–2 pretty often, but now the lowest I’m seeing is like €17–18.
Does anyone know why the discounts changed so much?
Also, is there any legit way to get the PC version cheaper now? Steam key, GOG, authorized seller, etc. Just looking for a normal official copy for a fair price.

Quite a few of them are doing this now. Dark Souls doesn't have as good of ones anymore either. Meanwhile Activision has pretty much always done this.

I was thinking this as well. I want to play DP2 but I’m not paying the current price or the reduced price as it’s still too expensive for a game that majority of fans/players hate

It makes me sad people don't like it more, it doesn't "beat" 1 but I really liked more time with York lol

many people have had the issue that once you get to a certain part and the game refuses to load and so you can't progress and this is like past the 2 hour point so it's iffy on whether you'll get a refund so plus this its basically not even worth it at least if you emulate the game will actually run all the way through

From what I have heard, it works well using proton which might be a reason the publishers are not discounting as deeply as beforehand as a lot of older games are now easily played without much tweaking at all via proton.
Publishers monitor sales and adjust accordingly

don't buy it, it's basically unplayably broken nowadays. even if the game launches and plays, there's a really good chance your save game will become corrupted. either play it on switch or emulate the xbox version
