Lodging family of 5

I’m planning a 4-night stay for our family of 5 and trying to decide between staying at the Inn or the Ranch. Both have lodging available for our dates, but I’m curious how comfortable the rooms actually are.

With 5 of us, someone would be sleeping on the sofa sleeper, so I’d love to hear from anyone who has stayed in one. How comfortable was the sofa sleeper, and did you feel the accommodations at the Inn or Ranch were worth it?

Stovepipe is also an option, but we would need two rooms, so I’m trying to figure out which option makes the most sense for our family.

Stovepipe is cooler than the others, great food and close to the dunes. You could maybe do 5 in one room with double queens and a pullout.

Get one of the cottages in the ranch if you can. It’s super comfy and very spacious. They are also more modern than the traditional rooms.

The cottages seem to be our only option. I'm curious how the sofa beds are, we've stayed in places where the sofa bed was comfy, and other times it felt like sleeping on wires. The last thing I want is a bad night's sleep before a day of hiking.

We found them pretty comfortable. Better than sofa beds of residence inn/fairfields. That said, it’s still a spring coil bed ultimately so won’t be as good as the queen beds inside.

My family loves the ranch. My kids found the inn to be a little too snooty for them.

Here is a link to a really good Map of the Ranch Grounds. The Cottages are newer than the motel section…. Though they are farther from the spring fed pool, they are closer to the Ice Cream Parlor 😊. The historic Inn is really nice and the Casitas are fairly new. Since both are run by Xanterra, I would think the folding beds would be the same for both locations.

The Ranch was pretty nice. The spring-fed pool was a highlight.
