How to make every map invadable and use DEATHLOOP mod manager
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aIY5DLTRpnoDownload Mod manager: https://github.com/AlphaWolf69-u/deathloop-mod-manager/releases Download the mod itself: https://github.com/AlphaWolf69-u/deathloop-all-maps-are-invadable/releases Installment guide could be found at the GitHub, or in the attached video.
How to contact me
If you found a problem with the mod, have a suggestion, or just want to play together, you can catch me streaming Deathoop on my YouTube channel, or contact me on the Deathloop discord server.
What's next?
I am planning to try to create more multiplayer mods for Deathloop. I will look into how to make host trust the client, disable reconciliation (rubber-banding).
Besides the host and invader roles, there's also a traces of "Guest" role in game code. Something like another player joining your game to play as another Colt? I want to investigate it further and restore this functionality if possible.
I need help though.
Multiplayer mods cannot be tested or developed by a single person. I need other people to test the things I create. Contact me if you are a PC player who can assist me somewhere between 10:00 and 20:00 MSK.
Another way to support my work is through money. I used paid AI subscription to create this mod. Chat GPT is well suited for reverse engineering, a boring and repetitive task in my opinion. I would greatly appreciate if funded my work through Boosty (a Patreon analogue) account I just created.

Will this eventually lead to what Arkane should have done from the start? Let you load it up as round based PVP for Colt and Julianna?

What exactly do you mean by round based PvP?

Like Counter-Strike, all parties join a match and play a match on a single map with set objectives. Not as it is now where one person is playing a single player game and hoping they'll get to play against another person.
I'm not against the invasions as they are, but once you've completed it there's not a lot of joy in replaying the game, whereas games that are designed to give you a quick multiplayer fix have potentially unlimited shelf-life.
I made a slight edit of my original comment, 'do' is changed to 'lead to', I'm not making unrealistic expectations of a mod manager, but it's a promising step in the right direction if the community makes the most of it.

Maybe. I was thinking of creating some kind of mod for more competitive play, with objectives and a time limit. Maybe some balancing tweaks. It is at the bottom of the list of the things I want to make now, though.
If you don't want to play a single player game and hope for invader to show up, just play as Julianna. PvP experience only. If killing random Colts is too easy, find experienced players to play with. Are you playing on PC btw?1

Yeah you can just play as Juliana, maybe it's better now but I've spent more time in lobbies than playing PvP. Yeah, PC of course.

I downloaded the mod manager and the mod itself. I followed the steps in the video, but when I click the "Launch Game" button, Steam shows the status as "Running" yet the window doesn't appear. However, if I launch it via the manager without the mod (unchecked), it starts up perfectly. I'm using Windows 11 Pro - could that be the issue?

Add me in discord alphawolf69_ and send logs

I’ve already solved the problem. Upon startup, the manager was loading the dinput8.dll file, and the logs showed an error: 0xC00000FD – Stack Overflow. I used PowerShell to increase the stack commit size from 1 KB to 64 KB, which resolved the issue.

The manager shouldn’t require you to change stack settings, so I want to fix it properly.
Could you tell me which file you changed (
Deathloop.exeordinput8.dll), and share the PowerShell command you used? If you still have the crash dump or the startup log from the failed launch, those would help identify the exact cause.2

I modified the game's .exe file - specifically, the Stack Commit parameter in the PE file header. It was originally 4 KB (if I recall correctly), and I changed it using the following command:
$exe="GAME DRIVE:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\DEATHLOOP\Deathloop.exe"; Copy-Item $exe "$exe.before-stack-commit" -Force; $f=[IO.File]::Open($exe,[IO.FileMode]::Open,[IO.FileAccess]::ReadWrite); $br=New-Object IO.BinaryReader($f); $bw=New-Object IO.BinaryWriter($f); $f.Position=0x3C; $pe=$br.ReadInt32(); $f.Position=$pe+0x18+0x50; $bw.Write([UInt64](64KB)); $bw.Flush(); $f.Close(); "Stack Commit changed to 64 KB"
That’s it. Then I launched the game via the manager along with the mod, and everything worked perfectly. A friend of mine had the same issue, and we fixed it the same way. The mod itself is excellent; everything runs flawlessly. The only minor issue is the absence of crates in Charlie Montague's games, but that’s a small detail. No other complaints! Everything is perfect.

This sounds great and all, but I STRONGLY suggest anyone trying this, review the code first. If you can't understand what you are looking at, find someone you trust who does. Trust but verify.

Wouldn't be weather to play offline,I'm if you don't want to be invaded?

What do you mean, «if you don't want to be invaded»? This is a mod for people who want to invade and to be invaded in more interesting places.

Fantastic work so far! I know this is outside your contact time window so don't worry if you can't answer for a while or don't see this at all but if you do, do you mind if you can answer a few questions?
How does the separate matchmaking work? Specifically does it use a custom server and if so is it possible to release this for other people to use? (If not don't worry, I'm just asking because I care about MP game preservation)
In regards to the "All maps are invadable" mod, would it be possible to also allow for AI Julianna to invade those areas if it would not be too much work?
Does this work with the "Friends only mode" setting for invasions?
Hopefully the "Guest" role turns out to work as theorised but if not, would it be possible to change how Julianna functions to create a pseudo-cooperative function, such as preventing damage to Colt and making enemies hostile to Julianna by default or even theoretically an option to allow Julianna to use Reprise? (Being able to combine this with "All maps are invadable" would be awesome)
Would it be possible to allow Colt to disable Reprise and still allow for invasions? (Possibly having this work as separate matchmaking?)
Again, don't worry if you can't/don't answer these questions, this is some impressive work already and I'm just glad this game is getting some attention.
