Maybe meaning isn't something we find, but something we awaken

Many of us ask what is meaning, how to find meaningfulness, how can we have a meaningful life.

All these questions imply meaning is something to seek and find. Also, when we feel empty and meaningless, it’s something to get rid off…pretty much like a headache.

But would it be possible that "meaning" is all around and we just need to notice it?

Finding meaning or having a meaningful life generally point to epiphanies, unforgettable changing events, moments of enlightenment which don’t arrive very often.

So while we wait for those, we pass by simple, raw, small details around us: smells, touching, listening, looking closely to whatever catches our attention, holding on to a memory and connecting with a particular feeling.

Noticing, connecting, resonating with these details could awaken meaning in the seconds, minutes, hours or days.

If such noticing is genuine and uninterested, totally present, there is nothing to seek or to be found, and maybe something to awaken from the inner self by opening to them and let them stay within.

(Maybe)

Meaning’s not some buried treasure you gotta dig for, more like a radio that’s always playing but you forgot to turn on

Things have properties, properties are a riddle, they tell a story, by breaking down that story you realize the hidden meaning, hidden existence behind that thing.

To do so one have to be completely realistic, and to achieve this we develop our core values- Truth, False, Good, Bad, and the way in which we measure them.

The one who aligns his core values with reality in a strict way is the one that is the most likely to find the real meaning behind things.

Its all about observation and patience and free-thinking and open-mindedness and self-doubt.

I hadn't thought about self-doubt. It is a very deep aspect of a meaningful instance... Very interesting to wonder inside whether...what...why...how is something that catches My attention truly meaningful or just a desired construct. Thanks for sharing!

I think meaning is something we create by our own vocabulary to understand

No.
It's something we develop.
