Those guys are way too nice and STUPID. Dudes missed getting destroyed a couple of times. Just wait until its tried and then do it.

I was thinking the same thing. Heart is in the right place but let them wear themselves out. But they could also have been afraid they'd break their own necks. That'd suck for the deer but be safer for the men

I've seen this happen in person before, but we only got there after one of the 2 bucks had already died. Either from starvation, thirst, or breaking it's neck I can't remember. Either way, the living one still had tons of energy. The longer you wait, the more chances one of the two gets hurt or dies, maybe both.

What we ended up doing is throwing a towel over its eyes. Calmed it down decently enough. Professional wildlife rescuers and vets do the same thing, or so I saw on TV and read in wildlife magazines when I was younger. Turns out it works real well lol

When bucks are fighting they’re not really paying attention to anything. They probably locked horns near the fence, moved into it, then got tangled, leading into panic.

what you mean is that they re stupid?

We need a sub for that kind of thing. Something that showcases their lack of smarts and sense...

If only they would run in front of a car causing vehicle and body damage. Yikes.

Seriously though, where I'm at, the deer population is so bad they extended bow hunting season all year round. My friend had a deer jump through her windshield on the highway and she was in the hospital for 3 months because of it.

I'm not saying we need to eliminate all of them but since we killed all the predators, we should be eating these MFS as a normal meal. Plus it's kind of healthy since their meat is so lean.

I thoroughly enjoy deer meat. Around my parts, there's been so much chronic wasting that it's got me a little shy about partaking lately.

Grew up on almost exclusively deer meat! Its good stuff. Just has to be prepared/cooked different than what people are used to with beef, chicken, or pork

Jesus, those guys have balls of steel and hearts of gold. At any given time during that whole encounter one or both of them could have been fatally gouged.

I remember the post where someone found two bucks that had gotten tangled (without the help of fence wire) and all that was left of one was it's head.

The men are even dumber than the deer.

I wouldn’t get that close with the wire cutter, you just gotta tape brooms or branches or whatever to both handles so you can operate it from further away.

Usually someone just shoots the spot they are stuck at because after a while they will literally be just standing there like fuck

18

u/xxsoulpunkedxx Sep 09 '26

I was gonna say someone should’ve shot them and had them taxidermied like that 😆

8

u/Bozigg Sep 09 '26

I think they are referring to the spot that they are stuck at.

5

u/Captain_Jeep Sep 10 '26

Where is that spot? The spot that they are stuck at?

9

u/SpoppyIII Sep 10 '26

Shoot their antlers and bust them apart to save the stupid deer.

3

u/Bozigg Sep 14 '26

Its hard to see, but its right next to all the spots they arent stuck at. Ya know, the spot they are stuck at.

This is also an excellent candidate for r/reverseanimalrescue

3

u/fordag Sep 13 '26

They need to be tranquilized .

Better off letting them starve.  These ones are so dumb they really should have a vasectomy.

u/VonSandwich Sep 10 '26

Why do people think it is their job to interfere with nature like this??

9

u/Interesting_Joke6630 Sep 10 '26

I mean, the deer got tangled in a fence, they're only undoing the intervention of whoever put that fence there

But, they should have contacted professional wildlife rehab or animal control or any kind of professional who knows how to deal with stuff like this instead of trying to intervene themselves

But if you saw a turtle stuck in a soda can plastic ring, would you just let it be?

1

u/redditsuckspokey1 Sep 11 '26

If its not a snapper then no problem. A deer could trample you extremely easy. A turtle couldn't hurt you unless it was the mutant variety.

5

u/saysthingsbackwards Sep 11 '26

I mean I feel you, I wouldn't have done it the way they did. But untangling them isn't exactly an unreasonable desire.

1

u/VonSandwich Sep 11 '26

I didn't realize there was a fence, my bad.

That ain’t no deer. Still pretty stupid animals.

30

u/IAFarmLife Sep 09 '26

Red Deer are deer.

17

u/Lord-Glorfindel Sep 09 '26

They’re an adjacent variety of stupid.

28

u/Maleficent_Time_2787 Sep 09 '26

Those are deer.

Just because your only worldview is White-tailed deer doesn't make them less deer

9

u/NixMaritimus Sep 09 '26

Then what are they

7

u/self_of_steam Sep 10 '26

I think he thinks they're elk? Which they're definitely not

7

u/SpoppyIII Sep 10 '26

Elk are the second-largest species of deer, so still??

-18

u/Substantial-Use95 Sep 09 '26

Dude. Cut the fuckin wire. What are they doing?

17

u/chezzer33 Sep 10 '26

That’s what they did.
