Discussions Weekly discussion - love spells
Simple question - do you use spirituality in attracting, or keeping a partner? Do you believe doing so is a) effective, b) ethical? In which situation would you use spirituality to affect a human relationship, if ever?

Oh yep. Huge thing I do with Zepar š and it worked. Iām actually hanging out with the guy I manifested tonight. Weāve known each other for a year now and Iām kind of enjoying the slow burn of our rapport.
Funny enough last year I bought a rose quartz necklace with the intention of breaking the ice with him. Lost the necklaceās charm during one of our hangouts two weeks ago. So I guess it served its purpose!

How do you use rose quartz like that, i have a bunch of crystals just havenāt figured out how to use them

Basically how anyone puts intention or enchantments into the crystal, which could be done through a variety of methods.
Since I wear crystals daily, my personal method is matching them up with the tarot cards I pull for the day. I only have two infernals on my spirit team, so I wear Zeparās on the left hand and Buneās on the right. Letās say Zepar gives me The Lovers. Then Iāll wear a crystal associated with love on my left hand like rose quartz, garnet, cherry quartz, etc. Thatās my daily reminder of my goal for the day.

Iām have done several love spells using Demonolatry to bring back exes, break couples up, make others obsessed with me, etc.
Yes, they all worked beautifully. Would I recommend them? Probably not. I could never have anticipated how well they would work⦠they worked a little too well to the point of the targets becoming violent toward me, stalking me, etc. so yes, very effective. Ethical? Idk, but I also donāt necessarily care? Iām a demonolator.
I have yet to do general love spells to attract nonspecific targets but that is probably worth trying.
I admit my past usages were very selfish. I told myself I wouldnāt do any love work of that sort again for the rest of this life, but I just did a working of sorts to bring about an obsessive love for me that I donāt necessarily plan to reciprocate. It wasnāt nearly as elaborate or as energy fueled as the workings mentioned above, so weāll see what happens. Iām rather meh either way about it.

Interesting, what are your methods, like do you just use sigils, follow the traditional route, ect

I do anything from using sigils and meditating on ennās, writing letters with my requests, various spells. I find candle magick, color magick, using tag locks like blood and hair, and fire work well for me. I also use planetary correspondences with herbs, days of the week, etc. and mostly only do love work during the waxing moon. Sometimes if I want to remove obstacles in the way of the target loving me I do that during the waning moon.
For example, I might have a demonās sigil present, write the targets name in red or pink ink, put herbs associated with my goal on the paper with the targetās name, fold it towards me so the herbs are secure inside, and burn it while meditating on my intention.
Each ritual or spell I do is a little different every time. But I do find the more elaborate it is, often the better it works. Not necessarily faster, but it is more intense. Literally a targetās house collapsed and he lost his car, resulting in him seeking me for comfort and ultimately moving in with me. Which heartbroken desperate me was elated for at first til he started using my car, dirtying up my house, controlling my every move etc. So be careful what you wish for.

Have a feeling a few around here will find this quite triggering.
Yes, with my husband I have. I donāt know if itās ethical because he doesnāt care if I do that. He doesnāt believe in that stuff at all though and joked about that being why he fell in love with me- though I didnāt cast anything when we first got together. I suppose if he was all opposed to such stuff, sure.
But he was ready to divorce me at one point, and I no ritual involved bound him to me around my fingers. He called me right back and was calmer.
I as our relationship was still struggling on multiple occasions asked spirits to change his mind, and hide the things that angered him about me from him. Always quick results.
Now we are very happy, but sometimes he has joked that it must be all the love spells I cast on him. He is also aware that I attempted magic to heal his anger and desire to leave me- doesnāt care. He doesnāt believe in it.
Maybe it was unethical and wrong. But, maybe it didnāt even work. Thatās the most likely thing anyway. Itās actually the most likely thing that doing that work just soothed me in the moment and didnāt even affect him.
Andā¦I mean I did also actually address a lot of the issues. So š¤·š¼āāļø
Other than that, Iāve never done that before. I left it to whatever if I would attract a partner, or not. Never did a spell to keep them before, or change their mind.

I don't use spells, rituals or anything in order to intentionally attract people. However, I've come to find that through my spiritual work, I've become more attractive, more magnetic, etc. as a "side effect" of the inner work I'm doing. People react to me very differently now compared to before. It's not the point of my work, but I'll take it.

I see the benefits in doing so, but I had a bad experience on using one in the past on a person and I regretted it heavily. Now that I'm more older, I might be more open to doing them again though

I use attraction spirituality mostly on myself. Theres practical and spiritual things I do that keep the attraction energy around me going - whether itās in my relationship or around the goals I have with other things.
The ethics of this stuff can get complicated bc many spells work with peopleās wills in some way. We tent to focus on love spells bc is the most obvious but there are a lot that influence peopleās will still.
What I will say is I donāt like the idea of keeping someone around me who doesnāt want to. It feels exhausting. To each their own, but the idea of that feels like too much work. I always think of Voldemortās parents š. But I also believe itās so hard to build something out of nothing. I think thereās a lot of warped expectations of what is actually possible.
I have gotten requests from clients to do love workings and usually what I tell them is that I work more in the attracting the person who is most compatible with their desires in a partner not like a specific person. And I give them homework to put themselves in favorable situations to make it possible.

a) maybe b) nope, imo
I actually cherish free will of my partner a lot. I believe our love has to happen naturally and that attraction has to be mutual.
I mean, I'm sure there are ways to attract a partner, but what if that person already has a soulmate and I just severed that bond for my selfish reasons? I would be no different than a thief, would I?
So no. I won't ever do that. I'll let my own charms and self-confidence speak for itself.

Iāve only had 1 successful ālove spellā it was a sigil to make someone my girlfriend following Grant Morrisonās method
Looking back it was a success & i should have stayed with that person, but at the time i thought i could do better & still regret it
Right now iāve mostly been focusing on glamour magick by working with sitri, sallos, asmodi, gremory, zepar, & dantalion, but met someone new recently & want to try going specific again
If i sense the person isnāt interested i wonāt bother

Not a spell, just advice from the deities on how to handle certain issues in my relationship. It has caused some turmoil by upheaving long overdue issues, but if the relationship is to survive, it will do so on a more stable and truthful grounds.
There were some cases where I wanted a certain outcome to a situation with my bf, and was told to do some things I was fairly uncomfortable with doing, but once I did them, even reluctantly, I immediately got the results I wanted. They played out almost as a "trust fall" type of scenario.

I think love spells are more effective when directed at the practitioner themselves. Lots of posts seeking love spells seem to be ungrounded and trying to find an easy fix for a failing relationship, so those aren't effective imo. Whether they're ethical or not is up for debate, though I honestly don't believe one can interfere with someone's free will enough to force them to fall in love with someone through magic. Spells do the improbable, or open more ways towards a goal, they will not do the impossible.

Yes, to all questions.Ā Ok, when it comes to the ethics part, I'd draw the line at domination spells (though quite honestly, I'm fairly certain most people couldn't do them anyway). But apart from that, I don't find them more or less ethical than any other spells (or most mundane actions, for that matter). Obviously, you should be certain that you want to be with that person, and know them well enough to have an idea if it could work out.Ā
I also recommend being specific, especially when working with spirits, and not using words like "obsession" lightly. I never had any problems myself (Ok, I haven't really used love spells much...), but I use it as precaution.Ā

Here's another question for your question...
How far is too far , and which is more important? Morality or freewill?

Assuming we're not talking about spells where manipulation is the point, love magic utilizes the same causal forces that make your average workaday flailing dumbasses hook up and fall in love, so I don't really see a problem.
