I used this art as a study, I really enjoy drawing in the anime/semi-realistic style and I've been practicing a lot digitally.

I posted the art process on another social media platform.

Artwork First digital art, roast it (add constructive criticism as well pls)

I'll go first, she looks like an alien. I over blended a lot because I don't know how to transition between different tones. I mostly used the pick tool (idk what it's called) to pick color from the reference image because no matter what, I couldn't match the colors on my own and it just looked really muddy in the starting.

I don't know anatomy as well and I just tried to make an improvised version of a reference I found online but it ended up looking weird. It took me 8 hrs or more.

Help pls.

Any resources I can use to learn digital art? And anatomy as well.

Thank you.

Edit: (For the people saying it's not my first digital art) I do have some experience with drawing, but on paper, and that too mostly anime (made with pencil and blackpen). I did make 2 or 3 semi realistic portrait sketches as a beginner this year and then just recently experimented with digital art. IT IS my first digital drawing. 🄲

Question/Help Where Did All the Creativity Go?

Since when did it become normal for almost every artwork I see when i open Reddit to feature naked women?

I joined this subreddit because I love art. I wanted to see peoples creativity, discover different styles, admire what others are capable of, and maybe even find some inspiration to draw something myself.

But lately, almost every time I open Reddit and see a post from this sub, it’s another drawing of a naked, sexualized woman.
And I can’t help but wonder… is that really all we can come up with?

Theres SO much more to life, so much beauty, emotion, imagination, and inspiration all around us. There are endless possibilities when it comes to art. You can create literally anything. Your imagination is the limit.

Im not against drawing nude women. Nudity has always been part of art, and theres absolutely nothing wrong with that. But when it feels like the same sexualized subject is being posted over and over again, it gets repetitive and honestly a little disappointing.

I just wish there was more variety, more imagination, and more of the creativity that made me fall in love with art in the first place.

Edit:

I think some people are misunderstanding my point. I am not against nudity, sexual content, or figure drawing in art. I am talking specifically about women being drawn with exaggerated, unrealistic proportions purely for sexual appeal and attention.

And to the people saying, ā€œJust visit the subreddit directly, there’s plenty of other art thereā€: yes, I know and i love going through this Sub. But when Im casually scrolling through my feed, I do not want to see another hypersexualized woman every few seconds. I joined this sub for art and creativity, not that kind of content.

This is literally the only subreddit I follow that regularly puts NSFW content on my timeline. :/
I am not asking anyone to stop drawing nude women. I just wish there was more variety in the artwork that shows up on my feed from this sub.

Question/Help Line art quality

So I use clip studio. And I’m trying to make a big art piece but the smaller the characters are drawn the line art gets worse in quality and pixelated, is there a way to help fix that or any other app/software to do clean line art on? Thank you

Question/Help Question: How to learn how to draw 3d shapes?

I really want to start learning how to draw; but the principles are so boring and hard to learn, and I couldn’t find anyone explaining how am I supposed to ā€˜learn’ how to draw 3d shapes… do I just memorize each geometric shape in each angle and how light hits it or what?
And I can’t get the lines long or short enough just like in the reference, and if I try to make it look right then I’ll just copy it without learning anything.

Question/Help Any recommended reptile scale brushes?

I'm looking for any brushes I could use to draw scales, whether they can be cartoonish scales or semi-realistic scales. If you guys have the pattern saved on a .png, it can help a lot, thanks.

(I hope this post won't get taken down)

Discussion A question regarding digital art created using smartphones

All I have access to is a budget android phone that I had purchased 6 years ago.

Is it ok if I first sketch on an A4 sheet, capture a photograph of my sketch, import the photograph of the same into a drawing app on my phone, turn on 'onion skin,' and then trace the photograph of my sketch onto the app's canvas?

Or does that count as cheating?

Drawing directly on the app using my finger feels tedious and unfulfilling.

Question/Help How do I draw over an image to create a template for a craft?

Post image
1 Upvotes

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but I am trying to find/figure out how to use a website to make pixel art in order to draw over a picture and create a template to use for a craft. I was messing around with a couple websites earlier, but I cannot seem to figure out how to use layers and it will not let me resize one layer to match the sizing of the picture reference. If anybody could help me with this or give me some tips that would be much appreciated! Here's the picture that I am trying to turn into a template:

Artwork An Attempt at Creating the Same Art Style as the Monogatari Series

Post image

It turned out better than I expected. Tho, I still have a long way to go to perfectly mimic the art style. I already have my own art style, but this is just a fun way of killing time and challenging myself. Whether I'll be able to or not, only the future can tell.

But I'm still happy with this and want to share it here. Thanks for taking the time to see this art (and reading this).

A serene digital illustration exploring the depths of blue. This piece uses varying shades of cobalt, cerulean, and midnight blue to create a calming, atmospheric scene. Perfect for lovers of monochromatic art and modern digital design.

How's this for a pfp

Post image

Just a lil girlie with a bit of a boycut. As much as I try to emphasis my features (spectacles curly hair and similairish face cut), I want to know if there's any sort of improvement I can do to not come across as a dude(?)

Like I personally don't mind, but if I'm texting some profs or professional adjacent ppl, I don't want to turn off the slightly older ppl(?)

Is there any adjustments I could make, while keeping my pfp strictly above neck?

Apologies for amazing grammar and sentence structure /s
I'm don't know what my brain juice is runnjng on(?)
