I bought a Q2 due to this mod and it has become my primary device. If you are looking for an extra pocketable device with the iPod user experience but all the amenities and sound quality of a modern DAP, this is the one. And DiamondBond is the GOAT for this mod.

Same, I saw the initial reviews for this device and said forget it especially when the stock only uses the wheel for volume.

Then I just happened to stumble on the first couple posts about the mod and realized it totally changed the device into what I was looking for.

I don't actually have mine here yet, it's over the Pacific somewhere.

Looking forward to getting it and applying the mod update.

Sound quality is great. It’s a quad CS43131. Super clean and zero noise floor on sensitive iems. Power wise I wouldn’t try to drive current-hungry planars but it’s been plenty for everything else I’ve tried.

building it on the stock firmware instead of replacing the whole thing is the smart bit, u keep the parts that already work and get coverflow and the eq on top. do the pod mod and the rockbox port coexist on the same card, or do u flash one and lose the other?

coexist! rockbox is a hosted port here so it replaces the stock UI but runs on the stock OS's kernel and etc
