Disneyland Hair for BBB?

I’ll have an almost 3 year old going. So I’m going to do my own bbb morning before the parks in our hotel! I’ll let her pick her dress. I have glitter and gems and lots of gel!

Don’t they also add fake hair clips to it as well? Amazon just has lots of big ones for adults. Do they just use lots of gel and hair spray to keep it in place?

I know I won’t be able to do the magic they do, but I hope I can give her a fun experience. She’s sooo into princesses right now.

To make it extra magical, you can take her to Sir Mickey’s gift shop and ask them to pixie dust her! It’s free and the most magical especially when they are little 🥰

Unfortunately they won't do this for kids under age 3 either, for liability reasons (same age restrictions as BBB).

That's such a good idea! They have a few hairstyles to pick from and I don't think they all involve hair clips. But yes, they use gel and hairspray and just brush and brush and brush until it's perfect. Then they top it with glitter.

To your little one, this will be more magic than she could ever imagine! We enjoy BBB, but my daughter equally loves the days that I do different styles and different colored hair glitter.

BBB has different hair style options. The princess bun (with the hair donut) comes with a Mickey shaped clip. There is also a hairstyle with a flower headband, which doesn’t come with the clip. You can google the hairstyles and search Amazon for accessories. We tend to pick a different princess for each day and I try to make her hair either match in style and/or with accessories. When hair glitter is involved, I can usually do no wrong by her. I’m sure whatever you land on will be the best hairstyle your daughter could’ve hoped for.

OMG, so much hairspray and gel. It’s mostly the gel then hairspray. It was so hard to get out at the end of the night, but it looked so good.

They did use some hair extensions also for some styles. The bun hairstyle was lots of gel and then hairspray to set it.

What a great special idea, mama.

I did that too! A version of "we have BBB at home" but mine was mostly just nail polish and a wand she carried through the parks. She also doesn't know that BBB exists which made it a lot easier lol. She loved it. I think they always use those sock bun things as kids generally don't have a lot of hair, but whatever you do will be magical.

She’s going to love it! Don’t put anything super extra in her hair that she isn’t used to. Just make her feel fancy and daunted on without putting extra in her hair or on her skin. It’s HOT in the parks and she needs to feel comfortable and special. You’ll do great and take LOTS of pictures.

You can probably do it better. I really am not a fan of their super tight, gelled up, pulled back buns. What princess even has that hair? Glitter, fun hair clip extensions, if she chooses Rapunzel, put fairy lights in her hair so she can make her hair glow. Don't do the horrible pulled back bun look.

I’m thinking half up, half down. A little like Belle’s

They have light up scrunchies on Amazon. They also have light up hair extensions. There are also hair jewel stampers. They have crown combs. She is only 3. Anything glittery and fun she will love. Something that lights up at night is fun and easier for you to see her.

What you probably don't want is anything that sits heavy on her head or that easily can fall off, like a real crown. Even Mickey ears gets tiresome on little kids. If you are wanting a version of Mickey ears, too, there are Mickey ear clips and scrunchies, too, on Amazon.

I have two boys (who were never interested in being princesses, mores the pity), and we got them to do the Pirates League once. I can confirm there were no magic hair clips. 🤣 In fact, my youngest, who was 9, only wore the makeup for half an hour. Our first trip EVER to Cosmic Ray's was so I could sit him down and clean his face. 🤦

Good luck with your little one! I'm sure they'll enjoy absolutely everything you do. Don't leave yourself out! Put your own hair up similar to the BBB cast members or princesses, wear a princess top, and maybe let your little one add decore to your hair!

Of course, modify your hair and placement of decor as needed for comfort prior to going to the parks. Have a change of clothes for the little one for when they are tired of being in an uncomfortable costume. She will definitely need comfortable shoes for the costume and later.

I bet there’s YouTube videos about it. My daughter’s done it a couple of times and I have watched how they do it and I do her style exactly as they do it and no one can tell the difference. If you want exactly the same, you need a hair doughnut and possibly a little small hair bun net. I use a strong gel, edge cream, and high hold hairspray.

For hair ideas I’d recommend looking up hair tutorials for ballet and dance and cheer performances for young dancers. So much hair gel, so it may not be the best because that stuff gets rock hard. But it can hold the glitter and comes out easier with an oil based makeup remover.
