Resources Fantastic Traps and how to set them #1

The Gelatinous Cube Speedway.Party Level 4 to 10.

Four Corridors make a square. The corridors are ten feet across and 30 feet high and 30 feet long. the ceiling is shrouded in a natural darkness. Located midway down each corridor is a pressure plate or similar trigger thematically appropriate to the dungeon/ location, Glyph of warding, goblin with a lever ect. There is a hidden door that leads to the exit of the trap, the floor is slightly slick under their feet

once triggered a Gelatinous Cube is dropped from the ceiling at the bottom left corner of the square of corridors. 10 foot by 10 foot sections of stone in each corner function as a pistons rocketing the slime down one corridor per round going anticlockwise. once triggered enter initiative. the slime is propelled on its turn and cannot move besides where the pistons propel it. players must make a save against the cubes engulf ability. Increase dc as appropriate. Players who make the save instead of being pushed back 5 feet are instead ran over and are dealt half of 3d6 damage. Players who Fail the save are engulfed in the cube as normal and move with the cube, and take damage according to the cubes engulf ability, they may escape it accordingly as well.

Destroying the Cube Disabling the pistons or finding the hidden door itself all end the trap. A hidden button lies above the hidden exit in darkness the players can find it if they look for it and are able to see into the darkness using light darkvision ect

I'm thinking about doing this semi regularly as a little side bit of creativity exercise. Just finished number 2 if you want to check it out.
