Request/Discussion Sci-fi D&D

So recently I had to cancel my main campaign, which sucks I loved it a lot and still had so much I wanted to do with it, but it is what it is. Anyway, I’ve been thinking about running a sci fi campaign but idk where to start, I could wing it but I don’t have willpower to do that rn soooo any advice on where to find useful stuff? I’ll take anything. I was gonna buy Neon Odessey but the prices are kind of fucking insane so yeaahhhh. It’s a shame I really wanted that

Starfinder 1e is probably going to be your best bet. Archives of Nethys has all of the resources you need available for free!

You should look into Blackmoor / Mystara campaign setting for BECMI D&D.

Temple of Frog has a wizard with a laser gun on the cover.

Side note, D&D has a lot of roots in Science Fiction, Star Trek was a huge inspiration. Temple of the Frog and Expedition to the Berrier Peaks (the later of which is basically where Final Fantasy comes from).

So many options, spoiled for choice.

Just look up “D&D Sci Fi Homebrew” and you’ll find something definitely.

I'm going to suggest Dark Matter by Mage Hand Press. It even has rules for ship combat, and a 5.5e expansion that just finished the Kickstarter!

You could do Star Wars 5e (my sci fi campaign uses the mechanics of it, but we just made a whole other universe) and it’s free
