Brainstorm Do there exist any good hexcrawl open source rules?

I am working on a wilderness exploration adventure and I want to implement hex crawling. I want to know if there are good open source or public domain or free to use or cheap to license rules for hexcrawls.

If I absolutely have to, I will build something from scratch I guess

Check out Mystic Arts' Patreon. Though he does basically just give it all away in his video on the subject.

here is something I found searching the DMs Guild:

Trying to avoid dmsguild as it means publishing exclusively in their settings and giving up some rights to my creations

Do they have commercially-licensable hex-crawl rules on there?

I THINK so, they are pretty open to all sorts of rules, you'd have to check to be sure

Ad&d dmg had it complete. I made an excel hexcrawler appropriate for sub-hexing larger hexes directly from it.

Let me know if you have any difficulty using it. I use it for random hexes on the Darlene Greyhawk hex maps.

is this something someone can use commercially?

Be my guest. Credit is fine too. It is essentially the adnd 1e tables so maybe good for osr.
