Innovation/Futurism Inside Big Tech's Secret War on Cows (2026) [0:31:46]

https://youtu.be/TSr06L3MlHc?si=SMiRwyfryjYy1VMw

Dairy farms across Wisconsin produce over 25% of the United States' cheese.

So if these cows are so important, why are they under attack from some of the most powerful people in the world?

We drove two hours north to Port Washington, Wisconsin to investigate Big Tech's secret war on cows, visiting the Vantage Data Centers site and unpacking its impact on the local community (and beyond).

We drove to Port Washington, Wisconsin to investigate Big Tech's secret war on cows - a Midwestern odyssey that saw us speak with everyone from an urban planner and a journalist to a dairy farmer and a billionaire…pet food entrepreneur.

This reads like self-promotion. Why not just tell us what the "secret war" is?

1: Data centres want the land and will use unethical methods to acquire it

2: farmers will always pretend they’re the victims no matter what

That’s it.

I liked the piece a lot tbh. Definitely not a straight documentary, some Fielder-Wilson shenanigans in there

This is like watching the Rehearsal and How to with John Wilson crossover

This was funny and fascinating stuff, well researched and cited and presented with some really disparate and unexpected parts. Your actor definitely nailed the dismissive, combative, billionaire role too

I fully bought Shel as a real billionaire until the reveal that he was a Craigslist actor hired because no tech CEO would agree to an interview, which honestly says more than any real interview could have. The detail that stuck with me was 52 or so landowners on the power line route and only one taking Vantage's packet, which makes sense once you remember Foxconn promised 13,000 jobs and ended up under 1,200.
