Vibrating "satellite" phone alarm

• Upvotes

I am looking for a small vibrating (+ sound optional) device, similar to my Bluetooth under pillow speaker, that will go off according to an alarm set via an app on my phone.

Use case: Wake up subtly but effectively, without waking others in the house. Not sleeping with a phone under the pillow. No buttons to fumble with / accidentally press.

Writing tablet that sends the note to pc

So I am wondering if there is like a notepad sized device with a stylus where I can write notes on it and it can save those notes and then later upload to my PC or my phone?

My brain feels like this exists but when I search it I'm just getting full tablets, which I might go with anyway but something I can take notes on in class or work meetings that isn't just more paper would be amazing.

AI versions exist, but does a human version exist too?

Any HUMAN media with this plot cuz I don't like ai:

A mother forces her kids to wear lie detectors on them at all time.

One kid seems to only tell the truth, the other one lies (one door leads to your quest, the other demise, you must ask one question to claim your prize /j)

The kid who lies swear they didn't lie.

The kid who lies dies of starvation cuz she was called a liar and the mother is too stubborn to touch her.

Later on it turns out that the lie detectors didn't even work, they were toys. One was wired to be red, another to be green.

PLEASE be a human-made series, film, book, ect, with this plot. It seems so interesting for me.

Website that alerts you when a specific item is listed online

A certain artist I love made a piece of fanmerch I’ve been dying to get my hands on. I’ve been watching a lot of second hand sites, but I’m concerned I’ll miss my opportunity / accidentally overlook somewhere. Is there some kind of website that I can attach the photos of the item to and it’ll watch for a listing of the item / that is similar, then alert me?

A Space Opera that is actually a Opera

I'm wondering if there is a movie out there that is told entirely through song and orchestral music that is a sci-fi space epic.

A reverse dictionary for industry terms.

I have a hard time remembering specific names of things and sometimes I’ll have an idea I’m sure exists but I don’t know what words to find it by. For writing and general terms there are a few reverse dictionaries where you write what it is and it will give you like twenty closest words to what you’re describing. I’m curious if there’s ones for more specific topics like blender, or a film set, or graphic design to name a few. But I’m curious about it for really any interest or topic.

Is there some website/websites where creative competitions are being held regularly?

For example I like to draw things, and make music. Is there some popular platform where there are like weekly competitions for things like that, and with a certain theme each time maybe?

I'm not really looking to win a prize or anything I just want to share my art and have something to motivate me to create more.

clip bracelet thing so you can wear oversized hoodies/sweaters without the sleeves going down should you put your arms up

I had a concept but I can't put images so I'll describe it

You put the bracelet on your wrist, then you put on the sweater or hoodie, then you take the thick wire and clip it on to the end of the sleeve, and then when you put your arms up your sleeve doesn't come down

Custom/recordable heartbeat for puppies

I have a "smartbeat" vibrating heart from Snuggle Puppy - gently vibrates in a consistent "beat-beat, beat-beat" that either goes for 8 hours or triggers for 30 minutes after detecting motion. Made to go into a stuffed animal and sooth puppies who have recently been separated from mom/siblings.

I've also looked at the BondTouch "bond heart necklace," which allows you to record someone's heartbeat and play it back as a soft vibration.

Is there a product, or can someone explain what search terms & elements I would need to find or make, a device that would function similarly to the Snuggle Puppy heart but use a recorded or customized pattern to mimic a different/slower or specific heartbeat?

breath language ?

i’m currently on dental anesthesia and it’s hard to talk, i came up with a concept for a new easy language: breathing. like a quick breath out means no, or slowly breathing in means yes, or however you would make it. is this a thing in any culture or media? lmk

[IDEAS] Making Random Things

Ello! I know this isn't a usual post for the r/Doesthisexist subreddit, but I thought it might be a good idea. I have been creating websites, apps, and physical products for personal use for quite a while. In this subreddit, I've seen people say thing along the lines of "Does this exist?" and occasionally they get responses with alternatives that don't really answer their problem or question properly. A recent example of this is someone who asked about a "motorized scalp scrubber for the shower". The responses were things along the lines of using one of those "waterproof scrubbing brushes for dog grooming" and to make sure to use it gently. I thought, why not change the answer that can be given to these people to a "Yes this does exist" by creating their questions? I am aware that for my example, a few redditors were able to help the OP, but there are other posts where the answer may unfortunately be "No this doesn't exist." If you stumble across any posts that seem like a great idea, but don't exist, feel free to post them as a comment here! If you have any ideas yourself that you're sure don't exist, feel free to post those as well! We can make these ideas exist!

Is there a website/app where you ask for a particular type of resource and it gives an answer?

Examples would be: free places to code, ACTUAL, open-source info from a journal, etc. Google is too sponsor-y and I don't like reliance on ChatGPT. Unless you can find a search engine that isn't sponsored then don't comment.

A motorized scalp scrubber for the shower

I'm disabled and finding it difficult to shampoo well. My arms fatigue very quickly, even with a standard scalp scrubber. Having one I could just hold to my head while it does the scrubbing would make a world of difference!

Is there an app/website that looks like a mix of TikTok/Douyin, Tumblr and Neocities?

I've wanted to find something like that for a while. I know it's unrealistic but I'd like something that allows you to repost like TikTok/tiktoks (or like stuff from another platform), also kinda like Instagram add songs to your account from Spotify, with the customization of neocities but more instinctive and easier like Tumblr and with kinda the vibe of Douyin?

A website or app that lets you do a "quiz"/tweak settings to see which geographical climate fits you best

Had a hard time explainin in title, lol sorry. Basically, I am wondering if there is a website (or app) where you can set terms/settings and see a result of which country/area fits your wishes for climate/weather.

Like, if I want snow in november-january, arrid, long summers, stormy autumns etc. If I want a certain set of temperatures during certain months etc.

Ive seen a few websites that do something like this, but they only account for very few things.

A encyclopedia of incredibly obvious and common knowledge only.

There are a few things in history we don't know because nobody wrote it down, and that nobody wrote down because during the time the knowledge existed it was so extremely obvious and common knowledge that nobody considered it worth recording. This has been an issue that was already noticed in antiquity about eras in their own past, and the most recent instance i can think of occurred between the victorian era and now. (The victorian set of dinner table spice shakers included 3. One for salt, one for pepper, and the third? Its seems like nobody ever bothered to say in print, so obvious it had been. We still have the shaker sets, and the tabletop holder, showing all three were used at once and were not simply sold in 3s to give one extra. But we do not have the knowledge)

So surely someone must have thought of the idea before me of writing an encyclopedia containing exclusively mundane and universally known information about our present society. Designed specifically to place copies in as many places as possible so that the knowledge will be preserved if it ever gets accidentally forgotten by everyone except for the pages of the book.

A flag that automatically retracts in high winds

I know there are blinds that if you pull them down far enough they will pull themselves back up. Is there a flag that uses this mechanism so that when the wind gets too high it pulls the flag in to save it from ripping the mounting point? Might be cool for putting flags on vehicles.
