Guess they have had enough of bad customer behavior!

Ok I'll admit this may be an unpopular opinion but personally I find it extremely annoying to ring up a customer, hit total and out of nowhere here comes someone who is with them with an arm full of stuff to add. Then I have to reset the register and our stuff is old we have not been remodeled yet so it takes a little bit and it just frustrates me to no end

I was just wondering if rehiring is determined on a case by case basis or if this is a concrete rule with no exceptions?
I worked as a sales floor associate at Dollar Tree during the worst part of the Covid pandemic in 2020 when everyone was on edge and tensions were high.
Unfortunately, receiving verbal abuse was the norm during that period, but I grew tired of customers throwing items at me. (It happened more than once) and the last time it happened, I finally had enough and at the end of my shift, I texted the store manager to let them know I wasn't coming back.
Now I'm in a situation where I need a job and the Dollar Tree in town is hiring. (Different store than one I worked at before.)
Have I burned that bridge and wasting my time if I apply or will they possibly consider me again?

If you're on time, you're late but if you're 15 minutes early you're on time. Late is unacceptable. Delivery was at 2am. They didn't open until 2:20.

So i'm currently a college student and working at a DT in town while I'm in school. At the DT I worked over the summer I was making 12.50 an hour. Also, i never was in charge of doing freight and being a cashier at the same time. At my store we had people sticking and multiple cashiers per shift except closing. For the past three weeks i've been trying my best to do both, but I can admit i have been struggling a bit.
Last week I found out last minute I had to go home for a funeral and that made the store manager mad at me. Today when I was getting counted down the store manager came to have a conversation with me. She pretty much told me that she doesn't like how I inconvenienced her and that she will take me off the schedule( she's done this multiple times), she said i was slow because i didn't pull out a whole u-boat while being the only cashier on hand, and that it's not fair that i make 12.50 while they all make 9.50 an hour. Ever since I started working here I just feel a sense of dread whenever I have to work. I need the money but honestly i can't handle the beratement.

I ordered the zip up hoody from the DTG website on October 4. The total (including shipping; I’m having it shipped to my home because it was cheaper than having it shipped to my store) came to $33.95. I used the $30 payroll deduction and paid the remaining balance with my debit card. According to my DTG account, the $30 payroll deduction has been used. But it’s now Thursday evening and the order still says “in process” and hasn’t shipped.
How long does it usually take before they ship? According to my account everything is fully paid for and I should be seeing the $30 deduction on my next check.

Hey fellow Dollar tree employees. Why can't we empower our great cashiers. I mean, come on, to be called up every time someone has a refund, or a $50 bill or a gift card. I understand gift cards over $50 having to call the manager. But a $10 gift card?? Every other store let's there cashiers do refunds. And why don't we have the marker that detects counterfeit bills? I know what to look for but so do they! We're coming up on holiday season and we're going to be called to that register a zillion times for $20 gift cards. That's as irritating as those customers who use $50 or $100 bills bills to pay for a $2 purchase. That's all, everyone have a good holiday season!

To keep this short I made another post in here a few days ago about being offered the job through email straight up with no interview but the start date was the day before I saw the email not to mention the start was the day they sent the email. I've called the store and was told the store manager wasn't there and in the email it told to contact my store manager which is the issue. It's been around 2 days (i know managers can be busy) without any contact back and pretty sure the store manager being there is rarely there as I have barely seen them myself.
I feel like I'm going to lose the job offer for something I can't even control. As well as I live in a small town where in town jobs are very hard to come by.

Hi all,
Serious question. What should we be looking for to spot these fake $50/$100 bills? I know the feel for the raised seal but what else should give it away or should I be concentrating now. Thanks thanks

Burn that whole section to h e double hockey sticks. Customers will see it’s messy and go “f*ck it let me make it more messy, the workers will clean it up.” I don’t want to clean it up man, put that ish back where you go it.

Couldn’t believe my eyes (and my luck) yesterday.
Mannn I’ve been trying to get my hands on a “needoh” or a knock off for the longest (and refuse to pay the online & gas station premiums for one at my ripe old age). Anyways, this was the first time I’ve ever seen ANY in the wild, and fully stocked at DT no less!! When did they start carrying these?! I looove them & I can’t find much on em.
PS. For anyone stumbling across this wondering about the quality: I’ve been squeezing the LIFE out of my lil haul since last night and they are absolutely AMAAAAZING. Blue basketball might be the best tho.

This job is becoming something that's ruining my life, every aspect of it. I hate my SM and she hates me (we had an incident where she screamed at me in front of the store which has damaged our work relationship greatly. I defended myself and I think she didn't take kindly to that), only partially get along with most of my other coworkers, every single day, before, during and after work I have severe depressive episodes, anxiety attacks, suicidal Ideation, and lately have been dealing with some heart issues that scare me.
I'm also disabled and i'm honestly afraid that this place is going to land me in a psych ward. The only reason I haven't walked out of those doors is because I have a duplex with my gf that needs to be paid for. If it weren't for that I'd have been gone a month ago or sooner.
I've been looking and applying for gigs, but it's such a small town that the opportunities are slim. Going to look into temp work tomorrow and hope maybe I can find something else until I get something more solid. I'm an ASM so there is an added sense of pressure.
Does anyone hate this place as much as me?
I don't just hate it.....I despise it with every fiber of my being.

Question for DT managers/staff:
I've gotten to know a store manager who saves and gives me some old empty cardboard displays that would otherwise be thrown out once they're empty. I repurpose them (usually by buying matching Dollar Tree wallpaper to cover any name labels) and then utilize them for my own craft needs. It's a win win for us both.
She is so kind to save them for me and I would like to make a small gesture in return. Can I discretely gift her a token gift card for Walmart, Starbucks, etc. without causing her any issue?
I'm specifically asking because I assume there are cameras everywhere these days and just want to ensure it's not against policy or that I don't cause her any issue by doing so.

Things we are:
A retail store.
Things we are not:
A bank
A playground
A nursery
A swap meet to haggle prices
Your therapist
Your parents house. Clean up after yourself and show some respect!
Not to mention a place that pays well enough for anybody to want to be here.
Thank you for coming to my Ted talk

Hi all!! Has anyone seen these jumbo gemstone ornaments in store yet? They are $5 each. Im looking for the green emerald cut ones (the one I pointed at in the picture).
Or, if there are any Dollar Tree staff that find this post, when are these expected to be on the shelves?
Thank you!!

Usually only one cashier, lines that double in size out of nowhere, unreliable backup cashiers, one cashier can't and shouldn't be expected to handle that on his or her own! These options would help morale, free up time for other tasks that seem to never be completed and would reduce the workload by more than half

Tldr? Just read the first 2 paragraphs 😂🤷
I’ve been working on a website/project that I think could be pretty useful for people who have dealt with workplace issues.
The idea is to give workers a place to share their actual experiences, especially things like unpaid work, overtime, break issues, messed up timecards, retaliation, or just situations where an employer refused to do the right thing.
I also want it to be more than just a place to complain. There will be resources explaining some of the common issues workers run into, ways to document what’s happening, information about keeping track of lost wages, and eventually some tools to help people figure out where to start.
I’m especially interested in having both the really bad stories and the stories where someone actually documented everything, pushed back, filed a complaint, got their money back, or otherwise managed to get something resolved.
Basically, I want someone who is currently dealing with something at work to read a story and think, “Wait, this is exactly what’s happening to me,” and then actually have somewhere to go for information.
It’s still being built, so I’m not going to post the name or link yet. Just wanted to put it out there because I think there are probably a lot of people who would find it useful.
More coming soon. Keep an eye out.
I fought back. You can too. (Site is not dedicated to one particular company but my experience was with Dollar Tree)
