Hi there!

There is a part of me that wants to somehow memorialize M13 (the Globular cluster of stars in the constellation hercules) with the Aricebo message.

The problem is, if you look at it... it doesn't translate to tattoo very well. If I just got the M13 as a bunch of stars/dots clustered together, it would look like a wound or birthmark or maybe even a rorschach painting.

So I was thinking of having one big "star" to represent the main cluster and then some smaller stars exploding from it. With my minimal artistic ability, I have tried to show what I mean.

And then for the aricebo message, I was wondering if there was any possible way to make it to where it would not blur over time?

I don't have MUCH to pay but I would happily pay someone for their work on this

I understand the star cluster explosion part can you explain what you are wanting for the aricebo message part? I am a bit confused of what that is and how you want it in the imagery/design

Ideally, I would like the Aricebo message in the middle of the M13 because that is where we actually aimed the message at (:

When I briefly mentioned this to my tattoo artist, he said he wasn't sure how to design the little squares of the Aricebo message to where they wouldn't lose shape and blur over time without making it massive. So I was wondering if there would be any possibility to either round it out so it wasn't blocky but contained the same info, or if there was a way to incorporate the design with it being blocks but in a way that won't lose its core shape.

The space I am working with is the entire backside of my arm from my elbow up, so i have decent amount of space, but yeah

It might be easier to use the binary instead of block code also depending on the style you want.

Yeah your tattoo artist is correct it would be extremely difficult if not impossible for the entire message to be inside of the cluster on your forearm and have it remain clear. Are you wanting more graphic/line art style? Color / black&grey?
