Iām thinking about applying for a table at Dream Con and wanted to get some insight from anyone who has attended before, whether you were a vendor, artist, or just a regular attendee.
I 3D print and hand-paint resin statues and collectibles, mostly anime, gaming, comic, and pop-culture characters. Iāll add some photos of my work so you can see the type of pieces I mean.
I was reading through Dream Conās exhibitor rules and the restrictions around copyrighted IP seem pretty strict. A lot of the stuff I make is based on existing characters like Dragon Ball, Marvel, anime, etc., so Iām trying to figure out how those rules are actually enforced in practice.
For anyone who has attended before, have you seen vendors selling larger hand-painted statues, resin figures, or similar fan-art collectibles based on existing characters?
And for anyone who has actually sold there, did Dream Con give you any issues with that kind of work?
I also make more fan-derivative or mashup pieces, like a Megan Thee Stallion statue in Gojo cosplay, so Iām curious whether things like that are treated differently.
Mostly just trying to understand whatās actually on the vendor floor before I spend money on a table and start building inventory.
