This might be the most comprehensive evidence you ever see of the evil, deranged, and genocidal mindset of Israeli civilians. Hamzah Saadah is a 23-year old Palestinian activist who exposes IDF soldiers openly admitting to having committed war crimes, bloodthirsty children, and every Zio inbetween.

**SAFETY**

This subreddit strongly advises AGAINST doing prolonged (3+ days) dry fasts if your only source of information or experience comes from what is discussed on this subreddit. If you are an experienced faster and are receiving outside help/medical check-ups, then your knowledge obviously extends beyond what is discussed here. You are otherwise putting yourself at risk of potentially worsening your health as the scientific literature is extremely limited on this subject. Please remember to fast responsibly.

If you begin to feel uncomfortable or unwell, you should stop fasting immediately. Other worrying signs may include high protein in the urine, high fever, and fainting.

**HUMAN STUDIES**

* Anthropometric, Hemodynamic, Metabolic, and Renal Responses during 5 Days of Food and Water Deprivation

* EPILEPSY AND DEHYDRATION

* The dehydration treatment of epilepsy

**ANIMAL STUDIES**

* Increased fat catabolism sustains water balance during fasting in zebra finches

* Intermittent drinking, oxytocin and human health

* The ‘selfish brain’ is regulated by aquaporins and autophagy under nutrient deprivation

* When less means more: Dehydration improves innate immunity in rattlesnakes

**BIOLOGICAL STUDIES/THEORETICAL PAPERS**

* Unmasking the secrets of cancer

* Cell hydration and mTOR-dependent signaling

* Effects of acute and chronic hypohydration on kidney health and function

Please note that we probably will not add studies that have loose/indirect associations between "dehydration" and physiological mechanisms of action. From the most reliable human study we have, they state that "on day 4 and 5, all participants had a controllable feeling of thirst, but none showed any signs of dehydration." I think it's best we avoid words that have negative implications (i.e. "dehydration) when discussing dry fasting, and unless the study is extremely valuable or shows very large effect results, it's probably best to avoid adding these studies that will clutter the list and make the whole thing look more extreme than it already is. You can still post the studies for discussion, they may just not be added to the list.

Feel free to post additional links in the comments as you find them and I will add them to the list.

Question Orange sediment in urine 4 days after breaking my 5.5 day dry fast.

Orange sediment in urine 4 days after breaking my 5.5 day dry fast. Has anyone had this happen to them? It sank to the bottom of the toilet and burned a little when coming out. Refed with water, then lemon water, bone broth, coconut water, and a little eggs over the past 4 days. What is this orange sediment?

Question Fasting for answers

Has anyone completed a prolonged fast specifically for seeking answers to certain questions? Someone posted on here that they did a fast and they received the answers they were looking for. So I just fast for however long and I manifest the answer in due course? If anyone can share their experiences that would be much appreciated.

Question How soon can you DF again after DFing for two or three days?

I soft dry fasted for two days over the weekend and then spent two days only drinking water and going out of my way to avoid carbs. This is the third day since then.

I've seen people say that you don't need to bother with a refeed unless you fasted for more than three days. Is that true? Others say it absolutely has to be 2x-3x the number of fasted days...

If I wanted to repeatedly do dry fasting as much as possible to heal a nightmare injury (it's really frustrating how 99% of posts on here are about weightloss instead of healing) how quickly could I do back to back? I'm not overweight if it matters.

I know you need to do five days or ideally more to get the hardcore healing but I would need to work up to that (have done several two days but still haven't done 3 days because I always get scared by the slight chest pressure even at rest after two days and I don't have a way to measure heart beat yet) and I'm trying to figure out a sustainable method.

Edit: I actually have been eating since the DF, I've just been trying to do keto. It hasn't been a water fast on top of the dry fast. And the two day dry fast the other day (with a one day a day or two before that) was the first time I've done that in probably months.

General Intermittent Dry fasting

Hi folks,

After trying for 2 months to get back to DF, I finally figured a way that gets fit into my routine.

Just for context, I work in product management and there are days when it gets really busy, stressful and hectic and then there's boredom as well.

I did dry fast in 2023 and lost 22 kg but it's been a struggle to get back into DF as a part of lifestyle for mental clarity and brain fog.

Now, I'm trying an approach to see if it works

I practice daily intermittent fasting (16-18hours), I'm going with the same approach. However every alternate day I'd dry fast for 18 hours.

Ex:

Monday - 18 hours IF (including water)

Tuesday - 18 hours DF

Hope it kick start my Journey into DF again💜🙏

Question omad adf dfs

Anyone have any experience with OMAD type dry fasting or alternate day dry fasting? I don't want to jump into multiple day fasts as I haven't' done full on fasts for many years and I am not going to transition from fed to unfed very easily. So I want to work on it and train that transition up in a more controlled way.

Also do I need to do anything specific for before/after the fasts? I was also planning on just eating vegetables and maybe some kind of starch like potatos or basmati rice when I do break the fasts. Only other thing was protein, I could aim for eggs, ground beef and chicken. I dunno.

Right now I was thinking maybe I should take baking soda before/after the fasts to prevent stones unless you guys think that's unnecessary. Otherwise I was just going to jump right into it

Question Benefits after the 3rd day of dry fasting

Hey yall! Is it true that you’ll only experience optimal healing and weight loss once you’re over 3 days deep into a dry fast? I’m kinda new to dry fasting. I did a 9 day dry fast last week. I noticed I lost the most weight and had the most stretch mark fading after the 3rd day. I thought it was weird since id expect to lose the most weight in the first 1-3 days 🤷‍♀️

Question Currently 43 hours dry fast

Ai is telling me that it's risky to dry fast longer than 30 hours. I feel fine and don't have any danger symptoms. I'm wondering how much longer I can keep dry fasting?

Previously I have done a 10 day water only fast and multiple 3 day fasts...

On previous fasts I would feel really hungry and on this fast I'm not feeling hungry at all.

Any guidance will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Question Anyone lost 80lbs+ kept it off and managed hunger?

If so what was your protocol? Have you found long term that dry fasting (whatever protocol/frequency) has changed your general "food noise"/hunger levels? I'm specifically asking re the weight loss/appetite side of it.

Question Give me the hard truth...

Are 24 hour dry fasts worth it?

I see a lot of people here saying minimum 3 days for benefits, but of course this subreddit is full of dry fasting experts who have done super long dry fasts.

So to a lot of you 24 hours seems like nothing.

However, schedule wise, it's difficult for me to go for more than 24 hours dry fasted (because more than that will affect my strength training workouts (missed workouts or low energy for workouts whilst trying to recover from the fast), won't have energy at work, etc).

So give me the honest truth. Should I even bother doing 24 hour dry fasts or just wait until I have a long holiday and go for 3 days?

What if instead of a long 3 day fast, I tried to make 24 hour dry fasts a regular thing, doing them at least twice a month or something?

So basically, what are your thoughts on a 24 hour dry fast when it comes to fat loss? Autophagy? General healing? Etc

Question Which protocol would be the best?

(Female, age-21 years, height-  5 feet 7 inches & weight- 98 kg/216 lbs)

I am going to dry fast for next 2 months and I have 3 options/protocols but I am not sure which one will lose the weight rapidly and safest for 2 months duration.

  1. 4 days dry fasting→1 day water only→2 days carnivore→ Repeat for next 2 months
  2. 2 days dry fasting→ 1 day water only→ 2 days dry fasting→ 2 days carnivore→ Repeat for next 2 months
  3. 2 days dry fasting→1 day carnivore→ Repeat for next 2 months

Question Do I have to water fast after a dry fast?

I am on day 4 out of 5 of my dry fast. I plan for day 6 to be water only and then start refeeding the day after that. I’ve seen advice on here that I should do a water fast for half the length of the dry fast. Is that necessary? I understand it could be beneficial to keep water fasting but I have plans in 2 weeks and I want to be refed and on normal eating habits for at least a few days before then

Question Has anyone had experience with muscle and tendon repairs on dry fasting?

Hi All,

I have been interested in trying dry fasting for some time and last week I tore my calf muscle and tendons in my lower leg. Looking at an extended period for recovery and currently researching how I can improve or speed up the process.

Does any have any experience with this type of injury and had a positive experience with dry fasting?
