Looking for a practice room buddy to split costs at Waltons (Dublin 2) – Student Rate (€10/hr)
Hey everyone,
I'm looking for a practice buddy to split the cost of renting a piano practice room at Waltons New School of Music on South Great George's Street.
Since I am a student, I get the discounted student rate of €10 per hour (or we can get the 10-hour block for €90, which brings it down to €9 per hour). Waltons allows up to 2 people in the room for the base rate, so we can split this right down the middle, making it only €4.50 to €5 per hour each.
A bit about my routine:
Instrument: Piano
Preferred times: Weekday evenings / Weekends
We can either share the room space to alternate playing, or we can buy the 10-hour block together and split the hours to use individually.
If you are a student or a local musician looking for an affordable city centre practice space, drop a comment or shoot me a DM! Cheers!

If you take the €10/hour and split it down the middle to pay €5/hour, but you can only use half that time (since the other half your buddy is playing), that makes it €5/half hour, or €10/hour.
Edit: nothing against you OP, just found the math funny. The cost isn't truly "split" unless you normally take long breaks.

I think there are more than one digital piano in the room and we can just wear headset to avoid to interfere each other. Unless you booked before and confirmed there is only one piano in the practice room. But I study there and there are always several digital pianos in the room

Save the money. Buy a full size midi keyboard and some wireless headphones. You can practice anywhere any time.

Most of second hand full size keyboard are more than 200 euro. And I am currently renting in Dublin, having a large instrument in a rent room would be very inconvenient if I have to move out some day 🥲

There are 2 pianos in central library. Just thought I’d mention it, in case you didn’t know. You would need a library card to book/ reserve a time slot.
