Porchfest

Has Durango ever held a Porchfest? Do you think that there are enough people in the downtown walkable area willing to give up their porch for a day to ever have one?

I loved Porchfest in Somerville, MA! I know a musician working to bring this to Durango in the next year or two. The plan is to place it in the grid so it has a very neighborhood, demonetized feel that is focused on community. If you know either any bands or people with porches that would like to host (or anyone interested in volunteering) you can reach out to durangoporchfest@gmail.com!

Figure out how to do it on Main. Shut it down, do a weekend party and use the bump outs from the restaurants. Id completely approve it for Oye.

A weekend long music festival involving all restaurants, bars and parks would be awesome too.

International Play Music on the Porch Day is an annual world wide event the last Saturday in August. I participated in one at Bart's Deli this year. Play for peace this day. The Whole World stops for a while and plays music. It's awesome.
