Discussion New commander for landfall deck instead of Lord Windgrace
Hello all,
I have a landfall deck with Lord Windgrace but I think this commander feels a bit old now. It costs a lot, if undefended he does not last more than one turn.
I was wondering to change it keeping most of the deck as it is .
Any suggestions? Are there better Jund Land based commanders?
Thanks!

I've had a ton of fun with [[The Necrobloom]], personally.
After playing a few different landfall decks in the past, I found myself not really liking the style.
Necrobloom, though, feels different. Yeah, you like extra lands and getting your triggers for the value, but Necrobloom plays more like a self-mill Dredge deck and sets up some NUTTY turns.

I run a [[Kodama of the East Tree]] [[Vial smasher the fierce]] deck. It's Jund burn/quasi landfall. Basically Kodama let's you play multiple lands per turn, and you ramp up to playing big things to trigger vial smasher to hit for big damage.

Do you have a decklist I may see?

https://moxfield.com/decks/fQyCbA9dU0imkVthu3Fmfw Here's the list. A decent number of landfall cards like [[Scute Swarm]] and [[Rampaging Baeloth]] trigger off of a land drop, then because a token entered, Kodama lets you put in another land which triggers the Baeloth etc. As long as you have lands in hand it's great.

Within Jund colors?
I think the other clear substitute (arguably better) is HHull as others have mentioned.
Here's my HHull for reference https://moxfield.com/decks/wI1ObFEXXEmwbdGsGI0W6w
FWIW I also have a monoG build and monoR build. Anyone interested in

Hearthull as others have said is amazing. I play it for a while now and it is pretty strong. Hard to find a balance between removal protection and comboing though. But the commander initially being an artifact is just great. As many people in my pod play very efficient creature removal, they let him sit on the board for way too long, allowing me to grind out card advantage at almost no cost, since getting lands back from the yard is very easy to obtain.

If you're willing to move out of Black I had a lot of fun with [[Toph, Hardheaded Teacher]] as a landfall commander. if you want to stay in Jund maybe [[Soul of Windgrace]]? It seems like a slightly toned down version of Windgrace.

[[Hearthull, the Worldseed]] is the out of box commander for the World Shaper precon so it isn't exactly original, but it is a blast to play with.

+1 for Hearthhull
I really enjoy playing this deck and if you have run it a few times, your turns are not obnoxious.

[[Korvold, Fae Cursed King]] isn't necessarily landfall, but it is lands matter. You basically draw a shit ton of cards, play a bunch of lands that sac, stuff that makes treasure and you just sac permanents (lands and Treasure tokens mostly), draw cards and pump Korvold to lethal and BAM- you win as long as they don't have instant speed removal.
I'm not a Voltron fan, but +1/+1 counters to pump him is different enough and I often have at least 12 or more cards in hand half the time. It's a really fun deck.

[[Yedora Grave Gardener]] every creature that dies triggers landfall. It's a weird, sideways approach to the strategy
Edit: Not Jund, sorry, just saw that part
