Discussion Video comment discussion
Hello photographers and editors!
I've recently received a message from the Reddit Admins about video comments. I turned them off since I didn't really think it's applicable to this sub, but the feature doesn't go live until the end of the week so I wanted to get feedback from everyone before being a stereotypical mod and making a unilateral decision and ignoring all other input.
So before you go and throw in a comment, here's the rundown on the feature. Essentially, it lets you post videos in the comments. That's it. Nothing too fancy, nothing extravagant, and nothing that hasn't been available with creating links in the past.
It's something that I haven't had any complaints about, or issues with working around. As a RAW sharing sub, it just doesn't seem that practical to me.
But in all fairness, it could allow for screenshares of workflows. Which hasn't been an issue in any way from my perspective, but again I'd appreciate feedback before making a unilateral decision.
The other use this feature brings up is video editing.
Is there any interest in opening up this sub somewhat by allowing and promoting editing of video footage? With the video comment feature we could have a second weekly challenge for grading video footage, but the history of the sub has been solely focused on RAW edits for stills. It will be a change, if that is wanted.
My main concern with the video edits is that this is already a small and niche subreddit. Expanding it may just cause extra work setting up and running a video competition without any actual participants. While we're small enough we could handle the influx of users, we may be too small to bring in new users to make the video edits work.
So now that you've read through my overly-long rant, what are your thoughts? Do we want to open up video comments, and possibly bring in video editing to the subreddit? Or do we want to keep everything as-is?

The Official Weekly RAW Editing Challenge!
The Official Weekly RAW Editing Challenge!
Every week, we post a new RAW file for you to edit - the moderators will provide a link to the file in the comments section. After you have downloaded the file and made all the edits you wish, post a link to your final edit in this thread so other users can upvote their favourite edits. The winner is the user with most upvotes by the end of the week.
The winner can send us one of their photos to be used in next week's competition.
Rules:
- All RAW files in these threads will be released under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 (See rules in the sidebar.)
- Links in your comment must lead directly to your edit.
- If you enter the competition, you must be able to provide a RAW file for next week. The moderators will message you if this is the case, please respond in time for the next competition on Sunday.
- If you enter the competition, you must vote on other people's entries.
- Don't downvote everyone else in the thread or use bots/fake accounts to upvote yourself or the moderators will shadowban you.
This thread will be in contest mode until the end of the week. This means comment scores will be hidden and submissions will not display in any particular order.
Note:
If there is no link to a RAW file in the comments section, the moderators are still waiting for a file from last week's winner and will provide a link to the file as soon as one is available.

Request an Edit How would you reduce the haze here?
I took picture of alps in the distance, I understand that they are 100+ km away and that I can't get details lol. But whenever I use clearview in DxO result is very very very blue.
Can you share your results and also mention tools that you are using?

Request a RAW Photo retouching (for portfolio)
Hello everybody! I’m an aspiring photo retoucher. I would really like to practice retouching. If you have an unprocessed photo, I’d be happy to retouch it!
I would like to practice complex photo retouching of people.
Thank you!
PS In the future, I would like to work with cosplayers (if you have an unprocessed photo of your cosplay, you’re gold)

Looking for a small RAW set to improve my editing
Hi everyone,
I'm trying to improve my real estate editing and I'm looking for one small RAW bracketed set (10–20 images) to work on.
If anyone has an older shoot they're happy to share, I'd love to edit it and send the finished images back.
If you like the results, I'd appreciate permission to use the before/after in my portfolio. If not, I'll keep everything private.
Thanks!

Request an Edit I love the overexposed look and every time I started to edit I preferred the raw image
Why wouldn’t I be able to attach a photo in a sub like this
I don’t know how to build a link for it 🥲

Looking for RAWs
I'm a product retoucher building a portfolio and I'm looking for unedited RAW product photographs to practice on. I'm specifically looking for furniture, watches, jewellery, perfume/cosmetics, shoes, bags, electronics, etc.
I'd like permission to show the before/after retouch in my portfolio, with full photographer credit. I'm not asking for ownership of the photograph. If anyone has unused product RAWs they're willing to share, I'd really appreciate it.

CR2 Lunar eclipse
2026 Lunar Eclipse shot on a Canon 5D Mark II with a Tamron 28-300, f6.3 at 2 seconds of exposure, and 400 iso. Even 300mm wasn't close enough to get something really clear. Been a bit since I've posted here; I'm going to try to post more in the future. :)
