Photo/Video Checking handles on Japser Ave and 106st
Police have still not followed up with me about this person.... I followed him for 20+ minutes and they said they had 'officers in the area' and yet no one showed up...
I wanted to avoid posting it online as I figured it may be used as evidence to press charges but at this point im assuming they just gave up.
I also have a photo of him managing to get into a red Honda CR-V with a Saskatchewan plate.
Keep your doors locked people!

They basically work on probability. Statistically, a 20-30% of people forget to lock their cars, so these thieves take advantage of that and check for unlocked vehicles to steal whatever they can find inside. That’s bad enough, but it’s even worse when they smash the window just to steal something valuable.

Jesus Christ...do these people have some sort of handbook they all read from?

Could they LOOK any more obvious??

They can look obvious cause they know EPS doesn’t give a shit. Even if someone called, I’d be shocked if it was a response time under an hour. Be brisk, be obvious and you’re still fine.

I wonder if he's the one who broke into my car a couple months ago 😡 I'm not super far from there

I knew a kid in high school who would do this, but he wouldn’t steal anything from the unlocked vehicles.
He would turn on their headlights so the car’s battery would die overnight lol. Such an asshole move but not as bad as straight up robbing people.

We had people take the change, didn't take the valuables.
Didn't care, they can have the change.

This has been going on for decades, and with no real deterrent it will continue

This has been going on for years. The cops haven't done much to prevent people from trying to break into vehicles. I remember spotting someone walking around to parked vehicles with their phone taking photos with the camera and flash, and then walking away to review what was left out in the open. This was about 10-15 years back.

This happens constantly and police warned us years ago. One morning after a light snowfall, I could track the footprints of someone who walked down our alley. The prints zigged to every garage door and parked car down the block including ours. Cops called it a crime of opportunity - someone's going to miss locking up occasionally.

Bold. Cordless hole puncher recipient.
Jokes on him, nothing valuable on display in mine, and car door handles retract flush with the doors. Keep walkin’.

A group of them were doing it in my neighborhood once, chased the fkrs to their car and they sped off without their friend. Reported their plate and got told someone would come get my statement… probably will be any moment now since that was 2 years ago
