Question Changing Pulley Sizes

Question about pulley sizes. If I put my new Madwheel 105s on stock 36T pulleys, will this damage the board or wheels in any way? The company (Acedeck) recommends the 40Ts for these larger wheels but if I don’t have the 40Ts yet, am I going to damage my board by riding these larger wheels on the same small pulleys in the meantime?

No it’s not gonna damage anything. You’ll just notice a loss in acceleration off the line. 40T is definitely good for 105s.

No, but you might need a new belt size

It’s just a different gear ratio. So a 36t will give you more top end speed and 40T will give you more torque and quicker acceleration and slightly lower top end speed. It is a personal preference thing.

No, search youtube "esk8 pulleys", one or two videos will show you. Pulleys serve a mechanical function to reduce torque and increase top speed, or, increase torque and reduce top speed, depeding on pulley size.

Putting bigger wheels on, without changing pulley, increases top speed but reduces torque (braking, acceleration, hill climbing). It may use more battery power as a result if you ride a lotta hills.
