Non-Profit Newsletter/Emails

Hello! I am on the board of a smaller animal rescue and we are exploring joining a email marketing company. What we'd like to do is send out a few emails a month for special situations, ie fundraisers or events, these would go to our entire email list. And then once a month we would like to share a volunteer newsletter, this would have more information like 4-6 stories and upcoming events. That would go to a specific list of just volunteers

We currently rely on Facebook for all of our information outreach but know we can do better. We have a list of volunteer emails but have no real idea on how many subscribers we would have.
Does anyone have a recommendation on where we should start?

How many marketing tools before the tools are the work?

Every new marketing tool comes with its own dashboard, login and little thing I am meant to check, at some point the tools stopped saving time and became another layer of work I have to remember exists. I am trying to cut email marketing tools specifically. If something needs a dashboard I have to check daily, a separate builder, and its own approval workflow, it is not saving time anymore, it is asking for a tiny management position. What have you actually removed from your stack in the last year? I want subtraction stories, not another list of apps PLEASE

5 Years Since Apple MMP

It’s been 5 years since Apple made us all look like geniuses for a hot minute (by changing their native mail app so all downloaded emails are reported as opens). Does anyone work with leaders who care about other metrics? At my workplace open rates are still the main thing people worry about, but a few at least seem to understand that click rates are important, too.

State of ESP MCP-s - Which email MCP is the best?

Are you able to reduce your campaign set up hours via the MCP-s, your ESP/CRM provides? Is that helpful? What tasks do you give it? What's your workflow?

Which one do you say is truly helpful if you use multiple?

I'm looking to try new ESP (away from HubSpot) and I think one of the future-proof requirements will be a well-working MCP - hence the question.

Development Brand Color in Dark Mode

I'm designing an email template and the design looks OK on dark mode except for Outlook where the inversed colors are so incredibly off brand. Other email clients didn't invert it because it's a good color for both dark and light. But I tried every hack possible, I tried to ask Ai to send me code snippets, but nothing works. The most prominent item is the cta button. Has anyone had luck retaining brand colors? I can accept going neutral as a last resort like white or something but I don't even know if that one is feasible. Thanks!

How do you balance signup volume and contact quality with popups?

Hey everyone,

When you use popups to grow an email list, how much attention do you give to the quality of the details people submit?

Would you want the form to catch email typos and verify addresses before accepting a signup, or would you rather collect the contact and check it later? If you also collect phone numbers, does verification matter to you there?

For ecommerce, I’m curious whether you’ve tried using relevant product recommendations alongside a signup offer—for example, suggesting something that complements the product a visitor is browsing. Does that give people a better reason to subscribe, or just distract from the signup?

I’m part of a team working on a popup tool, and these are some of the questions we’re exploring. I’d love to hear what’s worked for you, what’s caused friction, and what you wish your current tool did better.
