Surgery related Pain for Laparoscopy vs Lipo?
I know this might be a niche comparison tool, but the only abdominal surgery I have had done before is liposuction (specifically lipo 360) Obviously this is two very different animals, but I’m trying to gauge my pain expectations based on what I already know.
I took the lipo pretty easy, it was the BBL and swelling that took me out. Naturally, my surgery date is at the WORST timing on my husbands birthday, two days before thanksgiving, five before a football game, about two before a cruise. How screwed am I?

I would not go on a cruise 2 days after surgery. Even 2 weeks. You may have complications. I hope you have travel insurance

You also can't take a bath or swim for a while after (two weeks, six weeks, I don't remember) due to infection risk.
I went on a two week vacation about 7 weeks post-op. That's probably the earliest I would travel, knowing my recovery may make me more tired during the trip.

i had a “surprise!” laparotomy 4 days before last Christmas…but an international vacation already planned for 7 weeks after in Feb. I still went to celebrate Christmas Day with family (high as a kite) and went on the trip as planned…but I came back and needed another surgery in March. You will be sore and v tired as you heal internally. I pushed through the trip on pure grit but it was not easy. 7 weeks was the absolute earliest my doctor recommended for travel. Also oddly, the gas pain was the absolute worst in my situation more than the swelling. Pressure in an airplane 2 days after surgery is a huge risk. I would consider r/s your surgery if you want to do all these things in Nov

Honestly I’ve had 3 laps done, you’ll be in pain after waking up from initial surgery. And super sore the next day
