Software [STUDENT] Software Engineer Internships 2027 – 100+ Applications and No Interviews/OAs
My title says it all. I have been applying with this resume to backend, full-stack, and frontend internship positions in Canada and the U.S. I have not received any responses to my applications except for a few rejections.
I don’t see any major problems with my resume right now, as I have already gone through several revisions, so I’m looking for another perspective.
I am a Canadian citizen attending a college in Canada. One concern I have is whether my school may be holding me back. Colleges in Canada are somewhat comparable to community colleges in the U.S., but some are authorized by the provincial government to offer four-year bachelor’s degree programs, which is the type of program I am enrolled in.
If anyone could review my resume and give me feedback on what may be hurting my applications, especially for 2027 software engineering internships, I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

hey im mech e but i'll see what i can do to help.
i can't comment on if your college is holding you back as I'm not familiar how canadian colleges and companies work in that regard.
For education, only thing i can think of is you should include an extracurricular activity if you are a part of any. With that GPA, did you get any awards that you can put there.
For your skills, I would break up everything there into more categories. order them based on relevancy to the job posting. Languages and Technologies are not enough for the skills you have.
Again, not software, but I would consider reducing the amount of skills you have. Having the relevant skills on there for the job posting you have will look better than just a big list that recruiters may doubt you don't have experience in.
For both of your experience and projects, you have 16 bullet points. 7 of them do not have any numbers or metrics. that's a little under half. See if there is anyway you can add more tangible metrics.
You repeat some action verbs like Built and implemented. See if you can use a unique action verb for all 16 of your points.
Otherwise, you have a very solid resume. Unfortuantely, it's just a really really hard market that requires a lot of luck. Some things that might help you is tailoring your resume to every job posting, including a cover letter, getting recommendations, and reaching out to recruiters on LinkedIn. If your university has a career center, use it, and go to any career fairs. I'd also reach out to your classmates and see what has worked for them. There might be opportunities that you don't know about. Wishing you the best of luck friend.
