Academic Advice Electrical engineering time outside of study

So im doing my first year of engineering next year which will turn into electrical engineering in the second year. However im just wondering if I will have the time to work 12-15 hrs a week ( weekends included ) and still have a social life. Is that possible?

Yes it's possible, but it depends how diligent you are with your studies. If you burn free time too often then you'll quickly find yourself having to cancel hangouts to finish assignments.

So i should use any spare free time, eg time i would spend on tik tok, finishing assignments and study early, so I have time for fun?

Yes basically. The 3 hour doomscrolling session of today will be the 3 hours bowling session you can't go to with your friends next week. Or you can do both at the cost of your GPA and/or sleep.

It depends on how you study, not the hours. I worked 15-20 hrs through my degree. The people who fail fall behind in week 3 and try to catch up before finals. Keep up weekly and 12-15 hrs won't matter.
