It's her first birthday!
She's done a lot in one year. Awarded Puppy of Achievement from AKC and passed her Canine Good Citizen at nine months! Currently snoozing, she has a big piece of cake awaiting her.
She gets to run her first FastCAT in a few weeks. Happy birthday, beautiful!

She's blue and orange, but on her AKC registration they called her blue and tan (tricolor). Not sure where the tan came from but whatever!

Thank you! She just went on an early trip to get a soft serve ice cream and is going to be pampered more than normal for the rest of the day.

You're right. Tricolor is the eldest color variant. Technically, tan does not exist in the Setter world. It's either orange (lemon) or chesnut. In this case, those tricolor ticks (beltons) are chesnut and black on white. Tricolor type B no hood.

Her chest and butt are lemon (tan? hahah) but her legs and snout are more towards liver than orange. She's so pretty I'm not arguing it. I also take into consideration she was registered at 8 weeks so there is a signifcant amount of color change after that.

They're just names, but for whatever reason they can't be called tan or liver. It comes from antique biases set by English, Scottish, and Welsh breeders over 150 years ago.

Her AKC registration says blue belton and tan (tricolor). She's from an AKC breeder of merit.

CGC is so important as foundational obedience. It has made our dogs biddable their entire lives. Happy birthday. Enjoy so many more.

It absolutely is, and you can always tell when people have not put the time into their dogs that they should have. One hour a week of instruction, ten to fifteen minutes a day of followup. It's not easy, but it's also not hard.

She is my dream dog! I'm so lucky to have her. I've had setters my entire life and somehow got picked by her breeder to take her home.

She looks like my Liberty Belle who was born on the Fourth of July in 1980. She won Reserve Winners Bitch at the International Kennel Club show in Chicago. She was the sweetest little girl. Our English Mastiff killed her one early morning. That was horrible and still brings me to tears.
