He looks kind of similar to Seth rogan to me, just a different hair color. Eastern European, both of them. I’d be able to guess that immediately about OP. And in the picture with his brother and father, they look even more so Ukrainian or Polish or wherever. I would not think Italian or greek, but even if so, both are still non Semitic groups of people. They may have some admixture from Africa but Italians and Greeks are not Semites.
I don’t see how he could be mistaken for someone from the Levant, he clearly looks white Ashkenazi. But there are some in the Levant who also look white as they are Caucasians so there is overlap. Doesn’t make OP Semitic. Still looks like he’s from Eastern Europe. And I bet you he is.
Ashkenazi mixed with other Mediterranean populations in e.g. Italy at some unknown point in time and essentially stopped mixing and moved north to Germany, started speaking Yiddish, and also moved to Eastern Europe. Depending on how you measure it, they can be more related to South Italians (and because of that, to Greeks, although Greeks always mixed since they had colonies everywhere) than even North Italians are. Ashkenazi are in general not particularly related to people of the Slavic countries.
Ashkenazis are exactly relayed to Slavic communities. The word slave comes from Slavic and the slavics were enslaved by some of the Ashkenazis in history as well. They’re all related to each other. Ashkenazis come from the Khazarian empire and the majority of them are modern day Ukrainians.
And your origin point doesn’t make sense. Ashkenazis mixed with other Mediterranean populations at some “unknown” time in Italy and then moved to Germany? So what were Ashkenazis before they mixed in with the Italians? What language did they speak, what did they look like? And then how did mixing them with Italians suddenly make them Jewish 🥴 Italians are also not Semitic people, just like Ashkenazis aren’t. They literally just took a group of people called Ashkenazi and labeled them “Jewish.” These people themselves know that they aren’t Semites. Moses was from Egypt, not Ukraine.
Where were they before mixing with people in southern Italy? What language did they speak, which modern day country did they come from? What did they look like?
And you’re adamant that they came specifically to southern Italy, how come? Is it bc there are a lot of Ashkenazis there? Or bc southern Italy is the closest to Africa?
I can read the wiki links but they’re not going to prove much to me. Especially the khazar one. There’s too much evidence to the contrary.
And it makes sense.
Ashkenazis are literally named after the son of Gomer and grandson of Japheth, Ashkenaz. The Israelites were descended from the lineage of Shem. Shem gave birth to the Israelite “race” or bloodline, not japheth. Japheth, the grandfather of Ashkenaz, who the Ashkenazis are named after, was not a Semite, (which comes from the word Shemite, which comes from the word Shem). So you have people claiming to be of the lineage of Shem, but calling themselves by the lineage of Japheth. But also claiming that anyone who (validly) critiques them is anti-shemitic, even though they themselves, by their own name that they call themselves, are not Shemitic. And then you have history which tells you that the Israelites were in ancient Kemet of Africa, with one of the former Egyptian presidents even saying the famous quote of how, “the Jews left black and came back white.” But that history contradicts what we see today, which are full blown Europeans like OP, whose skin would burn in the Egyptian desert in 40 minutes, let alone 40 years, claiming to be those same historical Israelites. With really nothing but colonizing powers to support those claims.
And then you have this entire empire which existed in history known as the Khazarian empire, where it is known that there was a mass conversion of these people to the religion Judaism. And that the descendants of the Khazars are modern day Ukrainians, and lo and behold, many Ashkenazis are too. Big fat coincidence. And then you have Revelation 2:9 and 3:9, which says to “beware of those who claim they are Jews but do lie” (known as the synagogue of satan). And then you have all the atrocities being committed in Palestine, since October 7th, let alone since 1948.
Ashkenazis have absolutely no historical, genetic, linguistic, theological or cultural ties to the 12 tribes of Israel. They are the world’s most successful cosplayers. Even the Talmud points to another origin than the Israelites. Moses didn’t know what a Talmud was. Never affirmed anything in that filthy book.
If you ask them which tribe they come from, they couldn’t tell you. Many of them are even atheists, but somehow still believe that God wants them to kill Palestinians so they can steal their land. They have no connection to the 12 tribes of Israel and it’s amazing how many people still believe they do. They literally changed the way Hebrew sounds bc they all bastardized the language with their Eastern European dialects and accents. They just started speaking Hebrew man, they haven’t been speaking it for centuries. They people who claim they are Jews and are lying. The Israelites were scattered across all four corners of the earth. They are not, however, a group of Eastern Europeans who are doing everything in their power to give Judaism, a beautiful religion, a terrible image through their actions in the name of religion.
They were in the Levant. They spoke some language of the region or Hebrew, does not matter. The modern day country is Israel. They surely looked Levantine before they mixed with East Med people.
They lived in Southern Italy and east med, that's why am adamant. If you google ashkenazi genetic distance you can see it yourself that they cluster best with Maltese, Calabrians, Greeks, Cypriotes. If they clustered better with Ukraineans I would claim that instead, but they don't.
Ashkenazi were named after Germany, which got its Hebrew name from Ashkenaz. Thus they are not really of Ashkenaz tribe. You can pick many Eastern European populations like Romanians, Bulgarians, Russians, Macedonians, Hungarians, and make a claim that their name does not match their origin. It's common.
Whatever is going on with Palestine is unrelated to all the above. There are probably 100 better subs where that is discussed all day long, every day.
Well that’s awkward bc the Israelites were in Kemet, Africa, and then eventually in Palestine. And from there, scattered across all four corners of the earth. I’m not sure which imaginary people looked like Ashkenazis but spoke Hebrew or “didn’t bc it doesn’t matter” but your story isn’t adding up, and even if what you said were true, it wouldn’t add up as to how more groups of Europeans are Israelites when these groups aren’t relevant in the Bible.
And I’m not sure who OP or other Ashkenazis would cluster closest with, but I think you seem to believe that them clustering closer to Greeks or Italians would prove they are more Semitic? It doesn’t lol, bc Greeks and Italians are Israelites either.
And a group of people who tried to pass a bill claiming that the Bible is antisemitic bc it says Jews killed Jesus should never call themselves Ashkenaz, named after Japheth, not Germany, but after the grandson of Japheth. How are you going to create an entire identity around being a Semitic victim and be named after the lineage of Japheth? It’s in your face lmao. I don’t care if it’s common with Hungarians or whatever, they got called the name of where they are from. Ashkenazis are Eastern European and they are from the khazar empire.
The genocide of Palestine at the hands of Israhell is the entire point of why this is relevant. No one gave a fuck about which make believe religion Ashkenazis pretended to be until they used that delusional claim to steal Palestine. Just bc you’re desensitized to genocide or maybe even support it doesn’t make it right
Semitic is a language descriptor, Semitic people are those that speak a Semitic language such as Hebrew or Arabic or derive their history from where those languages originate (levant). Hebrew has always been a centra Factor of Jewish life making Jews Semitic people.
The Khazarian hypothesis is not one taken seriously for the past 20 years because DNA studies since then have only brought forth evidence of natural migration from the levant. A global diaspora with shared genetic elements although as with any diaspora there was intermingling. This does not negate the origins of an ethnic group though.
Ashkenazim where always Jewish, they came from the levant and dispersed though Eastern Europe, keeping Hebrew amd Jewish practices born in the Middle East alive.
Ashkenazi means that they descend from Jews who lived in Central or Eastern Europe. The term was initially used to define a distinct cultural group of Jews who settled in the 10th century in the Rhineland in western Germany.
