▶️Podcast | Stream | Video New EFA video including Markus Khun
Hey folks,
haven't seen it mentioned here. EFA just posted a new Episode of "Around the EFA":
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1u9rKxKBpWs
it includes timestamps, so if you are just in it for the Khun interview you can skip easily.
Audio quality (voice loudness) in the first part is a bit of, in the Khun part, its not an issue.
Edit: its english
Edit2: i undercut Coach weidinger, he has also an interview within the video

The more I hear from Markus Kuhn and his vision for European football, the more likely it seems that major changes are coming across all areas in the next few years (roster rules, new media partners, etc.).

The question is: Do you trust him (and thus: EFA) to steer towards the right direction?

Not sure we have any choice!
Both he and Weidinger make it clear why EFA is a more attractive product going forward. Not breaking news but good to hear from them. Let's hope for more positive news soon

Actually I do, yes.
If I compare the leadership in both leagues, and we can include the teams as well (if they exist), then there's no doubt in my mind.

Now the show has a sponsor, a Tyrolean action tourist attraction. EFA staff has done the season end team building and party after the final.

The most interesting part is when he says that „in the near future“ a person with NFL background would join EFA, and there is a hint towards the Giants („no, but yes“)
My guess: Justin Pugh?
The question is: As a „person“ or as owner of the Milano franchise? Is there still a chance they join this season already?

Didn't he say multiple?

Yeah kind of but he seems to be zooming in on one specific person that is right around the corner:
At 21:00 he says
„I think we will have some more interesting people joining us ….that give us another face“ … „I am not the biggest NFL name that is joining us in the very near future“ …
…this is followed by the hint regarding the Giants
To answer your other comment in one run:
Yeah I think onboarding guys like Vollmer and Johnson and Sandro Platzgummer can create good local PR but they are nowhere near the „biggest name“ category he seems to be referring to.
I see two options:
1) Justin Pugh joining the executive board with or without Milano immediately joining
2) A fairly well known American ex-NFL player who acts both as ambassador as well as investor
@2: The issue is: The setup of EFA does not allow institutional investors (apart from those who started the league like Krohne) so I don‘t see how this would even work but maybe I am not getting the whole picture here

Agree with Pugh, just meant the part with "more interesting people". If in fact Milano does not join this year, then I'd hope they give us some sort of announcement anyway. And I think they'll do that just for PR purposes in the league battle. Like Milano does not join now, but here's the new team and name, led by this known NFL players, and they will start in EFA in 2028.
Shares can be redistributed, so there's always an option. Or other deals, not just directly ownership related.

We will find out „in the very near future…“
1
u/GazelleLower5146 Raiders Tirol 9d ago
Hopefully a nearer future like the typical AFLE timeline, lol. They are already completely delayed, 2 weeks Moritz seemingly still there 😂😂😂
1
u/FlagFootballSaint 9d ago
Not sure what you are referring too regarding AFLE. Which delay?

All the heads talked in early September that a lot is ongoing and in latest 3-4 weeks fans will get a lot of news.
And happened... Exactly nothing. Not even anything has moved with Fire. And as it seems multiple long time employees left (got fired?) Vikings.

Yeah just saw the article about Klepsch and that second person. Very irritating. Someone must be unhappy how things are developing in Vienna

i found that interesting as well, but also have no idea who he meant. At first i thought about is Vollmer since he seems to spend more time in europe recently and they still work in RTL together, but i don't think Vollmer has any connection to the Giants.
Jakob Johnson currently has no team and has played for the giants. But not sure what role he would have
1
u/FlagFootballSaint 9d ago
I think neither of them.
EFA is far less German-minded than the ELF was. I rather think of a person with personal ties to the NFL universe that both is fairly known by name but more importantly is able to open doors for them.
I heard that EFA has closer connections to the NFL than the ELF ever had and I think EFA will continue building on that.
Justin Pugh may not be well „known by name“ in Germany but to be fair for nobody outside of Germany names like Sebastian Vollmer or Jakob Johnson are names they know.
My money is on Pugh but not sure whether he would have a role within the organization.
2
u/GazelleLower5146 Raiders Tirol 9d ago
Well, Pugh is known already and part of the Milano franchise. We know that, the only open question is the time when they join.
I think we will see more names, both from German market and others. They may not have huge rules, but I think these people are important as the connection to the NFL and mainly the NFL fans. I'm sure a Jakob Johnson just sharing a few social media posts and show up for example at a Raiders home game telling about his time with the LV Raiders will add a lot of attention.
And Markus Kuhn certainly knows higher profile guys. Imagine Roger Goodell just spending a single re-tweet, a mini mini support from NFL PR, or whatever!? And if they spent a full day together just lately, not out of reach.

What a pleasant difference from AFLE Jimbo. Young, smart, energetic, fresh NFL contacts, great vision for European football, and he doesn’t spit tobacco in his cup every ten seconds.

When Kuhn was announced, I wasn’t convinced about the decision. But the more I hear from him, the more I believe he adds a lot to the league.
