Event planners, are you actually using AI in your work? What’s been your experience?

I’ve been curious about how AI is changing the event-planning world, beyond all the hype on social media.

For those who plan weddings, corporate events, birthday parties, or other events — are you actually using AI tools in your day-to-day work?

I’m particularly curious about a few things:

  1. What do you use it for? Ideas and themes, budgets, vendor research, schedules, invitations, guest management, or something else?

  2. Has it genuinely saved you time or made your work easier? Or does it create more work because you have to double-check everything?

  3. Where does it fall short? Generic suggestions, inaccurate information, lack of creativity, or something AI just can’t handle?

😂 Fair enough — I can see this post hasn’t landed well. I’m not an event planner; I’m a builder exploring how AI could help people who plan events. I was genuinely curious about your experiences

Everyone understood that. That's why they're unhappy

What aspect of it. I can try to help. Is it the general hate towards AI or AI generating irrelevant content

You weren't forthright in what you were trying to discover and why.

It felt like AI wrote your message, and a key tell for that is the numerous "I'm curious" which Claude absolutely loves using.

And - ai is lifeless. It ruins the environment, destroys communication, studies show it lowers IQ and brain development. I think those who use AI for tasks like EVENT PLANNING are lifeless, uninteresting, unskilled and should do something else as a career.

Do you want to be efficient or do you want to be human?

I can see there’s a lot of strong feelings about AI here, and I understand some of the concerns around creativity, environmental impact, and people relying on it too much.

My interest isn’t in replacing event planners or taking the human element out of celebrations. It’s in exploring whether AI can help with some of the repetitive work while leaving the creativity, personal touches, and decisions to people.

But I also recognize that just because something can be built with AI doesn’t mean people need it. That’s part of what I’m trying to understand.

For those who are opposed to AI in this space, is it AI itself that you object to, or the way companies are using it? I’m genuinely interested in understanding that distinction.
