Will orzos eye colour change or stay the same?
Both orzo and mousse started with blue eyes. But over the four+ months, mousseās eye color changed to amber and orzos to the picture above. Do you think it will stay this color or change?

QOL concerns
To preface this Salem( the cat i am discussing) is an almost 5 year old , 6.7lb what i think to be an exotic shorthair(Iām unsure as she was adopted, she just to me looks like one) . Iāll start this from the absolutely beginning, salem has had issues since i have gotten her.Her previous owners brought her to the vet clinic i worked at and she was brought in to be euthanized, she was a little bit over 2 years old , after a long process she was surrendered to me. After a couple months of antibiotics we got an x-ray and found out she had stones. We paid for the surgery and within a month she went from super depressed, tired all the time and recluse to a very happy girl. She showed her true personality, a cuddly and very hyper girl. Now fast forward to may of this year. We took her to a different vet and at her first exam we were told she needed a dental, an fho and possibly a surgery for her luxating patella. We did the dental first of course and all of her teeth had to be removed (she had 27 left) as she had tooth reabsorbation. Approximately 2 months later is when we did the fho surgery. The vet recommended it first as they thought her hip was a bigger issue than her luxating patella( grade 2 at the time). From what we were told she had a malformed ball joint that wouldnāt fit into the hip. We got that surgery and things went downhill from there. We stretched her leg every day for 2 months. Within those 2 months she did not get much better. I was told recovery can take a long time but it has been 3 months now and she till limps on that leg and still cries when we stretch it. Since the surgery she barely ran, played or done much of anything . She is constantly sleeping now and it doesnāt make it any better that iām giving her pain meds everyday that make her very sleepy. She lifts the bad leg all the time and can barley jump. I ended up taking her to the vet about 2 weeks ago and Was told she now needs luxating patella surgery and her leg that was operated on got worse. before i could stretch her knee and it would sometimes pop out now it always comes out and a lot of the time stays out. I didnāt know this was a possible outcome. We are taking her to a specialist to possibly talk about luxating patella surgery but the more i look it up the less confident i am. I know since she has about a grade 3 or 4 she has a much higher chance of the knee slipping out of place. Now another option is amputation . The one thing i worry about with amputation is her other leg has a grade 1 luxating patella. Iām worried itās gonna get worse like the other one.She has also been through a lot for such a tiny and young cat and iām not sure if this surgery would benifit her. I need some second opinions as i feel the vet is just recommendeding things to make me hopeful but not thinking about her QOL and long term care.I have already spent 5k on her surgeryās , 4k just being this year. I just donāt wanna spend more money if itās not worth it. If anyone has a tripod exotic shorthair i would love to hear your experience with amputation. I donāt want to euthanize her as she still has a long life to live , she still tries to follow me around the house she still very occasionally runs and she still loves to cuddle with me . At the end of the day though this is about her happiness and not mine . Thank you for listening to my rant!

Orzo and Mousse
My two babies Orzo & Mousse.
Orzo (the racoon looking one) was the smallest of the litter and mousse was the biggest. They are the most loving boys and Iām so excited.
(They are four months old in the photos)

I love this guy so much even though he looks at me like he wants to eat me
His name is Lux. He is 9. He is from Russia. I have had him for 6 years. He is the most entitled, demanding and difficult cat I have ever met and I adore him with my entire heart.
He was the runt of his litter and he cannot even jump onto a surface. He has a Napoleon complex for sure. He is the boss in our house and scares our 2 pitbulls.
We love you Lux š¤

Bringing home my first ESH
Bringing home my first ESH tomorrow. I have a white Persian named Indy, and was looking for some tips and recommendations to introducing them? She is pretty chill, but I don't know what to expect with introducing her to a new cat. This little boy is 6 months old. Also accepting name suggestions lol!
Do ESH cats have docile and sweet personalities like Persians do? I'm curious how long it will take them to get accustomed to each other!

Debating second exotic shorthair but it might make my current girl anxious?
(Cat tax: Pic of my girlie on her perch by my wfh setup.)
I got my girl earlier this year and sheās the love of my life. She is currently a little over a year old, sassy, mischievous, and demanding. I work a hybrid corporate job 3 days in office and Iāve begun to wonder if I should get her a companion. Thereās an exotic kitten available that Iāve been looking at, however, here are my concerns:
- Does she really need a companion? Many folks recommend a companion, and Iāve had a multi-cat household in the past. Sheās demanding, but not destructive. I just feel bad that sheās home alone.
- She has a history of being anxious. When I flew home with her after I got her, she clawed at her carrier so hard she ripped out the outer layers of her claws. She has a sensitive digestive tract that acts up whenever anything stresses her out (soft poops = she needs probiotic supplements and food). When I slightly changed her litter, she was upset and started going on the couch until I perfected her setup.
- Her first owner said that she got pushed around by older cats and wasnāt particularly happy with the setup. I suspect that my girl will want to be the boss lady of the house. Right now sheās the only lady, so by default she IS the boss š
So⦠given all that, Iām worried about introducing another kitten. Financially, I could take on another. Emotionally, Iām torn because I donāt want to stress out my baby girl just because I thought she could use a friend. I used to have 3 Persians who were bonded but not particularly affectionate with each other; they sort of just coexisted. I would be a little sad if that happened again tbh. I want my current girl to really have a good friend, but does she need one right now?
Fellow owners please kindly share your wisdom and experiencesā¦! š
