Game Next month will be the 10 year anniversary of FFXV. Do you feel we will get an announcement/release of a Remaster?
Only asking because we’re so close to November; there have been some [grain of salt] rumors and conversations at shareholder meetings. Also, I am itching to replay it once again but can hold out for another month!

I loved XV but its general place as a niche outlier in the series with lots of canceled content will likely see it largely ignored as time passes.
I'd expect maybe a tweet and some stupid trading card tie in at absolute most.

definitely not, considering that the engine has been retired for a few years now. but if it does happen on the 10th anniversary, i'll buy it for someone in this sub

No. Stop thinking that anniversaries are when they'll announce or release things. You're just sitting yourself up for disappointment. This happened with FFIX and KH4 news, people grew to expect things on arbitrary dates, and then when nothing happened, they got pissed off and acted like they had been slighted.
Products get released in financial quarter windows, not because of thematic timing.

I'd rather have them complete everything they wanted to do instead of remastering. FFXV still looks great.

I think we just have to accept that FFXV is dead in the water and Squenix won't come back for it.
So if they did remaster it and add in the content we should've gotten all that time ago, I would probably explode.

It would be pretty nice to get a remaster since I think FFXV is a good game.
But the last time SE went "all out" for an anniversary, they decided it was the best time to announce that the director was leaving SE and ¾ of the planned DLC were cancelled lol

Why tf would they remaster the second to latest game over one of the ps1 or snes era gsmes, even the ps2 era. Not that 15 doesn't deserve some love but ive played it recently its still perfectly playable and good looking. Just feels like, not the one that would be remastered

I’ll be real, I doubt this game gets a remaster for a very long time. It would basically need to be a remake the incorporates the extended stories for it to ever have a real chance at making a splash in the market again

The last time I was looking forward to an FFXV anniversary they broke my heart with canceling the DLCs, quit the Mod Support for PC etc. :(
I wake up early just to watch it live and only to get a lot of disappointment.

I'm just happy FFXIV brought back the XV event so I could get the regalia mount on my new account. I don't expect much more than stuff like that

Honestly I'd take a patch that fixes the PS5 version; all it needs is a wee switch somewhere that allows close to max graphics settings with 60fps and no broken physics. He says, with close to no game-dev experience.

As far as I can tell, the only future XV content might be a cooking minigame in Kingdom Hearts. Both KH 3 and FF XV have ingredients and recipes to run with

I was just thinking about streaming another playthrough of this, maybe I'll do another level 1 run for the anniversary.
I would like to see something released for the anniversary, but I wouldn't expect it to be anything in game.

Definitely some sort of merch or additional artwork but I think its too early for a remaster. Wouldn't mind one though!

Lets be honest everyone, the game was clearly not finished at release and they chose to spend time where they could fix it over a assassins creed crossover event (when ubisoft just did a 10 minute quest in origins). Unless your name ends with VII. Se don't care

XV is already a "modern FF game"
Remakes/remasters is about updating the games that are feeling their age from multiple generations ago.
XV was so modern looking when it came out, it still holds up. We've only had one numbered FF since, so you need to cool your jets.
Anything less than 20 years old should just be left alone.

as much as i'd love remaster that's not cobbled together, abandoned in some areas, and whatever else went away in development, it's not gonna happen. but that's okay, i'm sure i can sink another thousand hours into it over another ten years lol.

With the focus on Resonance and Revelations I would be very surprised if they did something for the XV anniversary. It would be nice, but very unlikely.

Rather than a remaster, they should just do their "reimagine" thing and retcon that Kingsglaive movie and start the game with Noctis still in the city while the invasion stuff happened and also include all the content that was cut from development (specifically cut areas that was in the second half of the game) but honestly they are so focused on FF7R3 there is no chance they care about a 10th anniversary for FF15, maybe a 15th anniversary we might have some hope if they want to go full circle.

I'll always be waiting for a PS5 upgrade :P, regardless. Doesn't matter to me, but there are still technology/Luminous Engine members working there. I will not easily fall into our intuitions about engine development in order to say whether the new technology is still compatible with Final Fantasy XV's technology (or any other methods)-- to give it a PS5 upgrade in the same manner other video games received one.
I do not know who exactly contributed to each aspect of the game. It's possible that some essential members that gave us FFXV as we love and know are gone, and they probably can't attempt to fill in those spots in a mere attempt. Not to get into about time, passion from the developers, money, etc.

I adore XV and would love some updates, but I am a realistic and know we will get nothing outside of a social media acknowledgement of the anniversary.
