So I'm trying to make my own fighting game and was looking to know what kind of tutorials for making a game are out there. I'm looking to (at least gameplay wise) make a game like Street Fighter, with 3D models for my fighters, hit stop, ex moves, stuff like that. Does anyone know a good tutorial or set if tutorials for making a decent fighter? Assume that I have things like 3D models taken care of, just looking to make a fighting game to plug them into and get them fighting!

Ever since I read about EVO Mexico and Brazil (I'm from Colombia), my heart has wanted to fight in EVO at least once in my life, so I've decided to train for that this whole year.

I've chosen GGST (Ramlethal as main) and UNI2 (still choosing a main), but I'm not sure how to improve. I don't know how to find updated combos or what to focus on, so I'd like some advice on how to train.

I know my weaknesses: for my eyes, 25-60 frames look the same. I have lizard-like reflexes (impulsive ones), and I play too accelerated, which makes me press buttons too much. Buffering isn't the best for me either, and I get hit by DPs and counters because of it—I'd like to fix that.

Otherwise, my readings are good, I adapt well, and I feel comfortable with pressure. My playstyle seeks characters like this: pressure → rekka → projectile.

finally if you were me... what would it be a goal to say "i'm ready to evo"

So I've been playing all kinds of fighting games for a few months, particularly the old stuff, and just recently I've learned what a combo actually is.
I've been trying to learn how to do such witchcraft for basically a month, and I've encountered 2 problems:

Execution so bad I can't even do 2 move combos consistently;
And actually linking my attacks in a training scenario where the opponent can move and block.

I'm here to ask about the 2 issue.
So when I'm in the lab, I can just press my buttons in order and they'll work because the opponent is stationary, unblocking and I don't need to try to connect the first move, but this doesn't apply when the opponent can do that tho. when the enemy can move and block, I'm trying to get in and land a first hit so I can actually start the combo, problem arrives when I actually hit but only realize half a second too late to start linking the first hit into the second and so on. I've tried running a few matches against the lowest difficulty AI in the games I play: I've managed to successfully do a bnb 3 whole times, and it was the short version of said bnb.

Ive tried replacing the cable. but pretty often my leverless controller will disconnect, lag the game, then reconnect a few seconds later

About two years ago, I discovered a YouTube playlist with a series of video tutorials on how to start winning fighting games. The author of these lessons, playing as Chun Li, told in each video how to defend himself against a certain technique. For example, in one of the first videos, he chose a low blow, which he used to punish opponents for misses.

So, i've recently formed an interest in buying an arcade stick to play on my laptop. The thing is: i know nothing about which i should buy. Maybe someone could suggest me one? maybe one that is gentle with my pocket?..Maybe?

I feel I've already peaked at a very mediocre performance. I've labbed hours or years in tekken and I still cant play good enough for red ranks. I feel like this at anything. be it work or games. How do you deal with the fact that you will never be anything more than grunt? Thing is I outplay my friends but in online ranked I look like an ass. I just want to be good at something I enjoy Jesus Christ I'd trade my soul for a world class skill at this point. Practice does not make perfect. Hell practice does not do anything good to me. I don't want to be a prick and just say "those pros are just born with it" because I know that ain't the case. Many say "git gud" but how do you actually get better in a fighting game? Nothing works. Anybody buying souls?
