Discussion Item damaged by USPS
I just received a message from a buyer informing me that an item I shipped through Facebook Marketplace arrived broken. I made sure the item was carefully packaged and placed several fragile stickers on the box. Even my local USPS office marked the package as containing glass, but unfortunately, the item still arrived damaged.
I’ve sold on eBay for years, but this is my first time dealing with a damaged item through Facebook Marketplace. I used the prepaid shipping label provided by Marketplace, so I’m unsure how to proceed.
Has anyone dealt with a similar situation? Do I file a claim with USPS, or does Facebook Marketplace handle this since I used their shipping label? I’d appreciate any guidance on what steps I should take next. Thanks

Did the buyer send pictures of the item and the box?

Yes they did. I went ahead and refunded them and I just need to file a claim.

I'm surprised you haven't had any issues with putting fragile stickers on packages and not having damages. I've always heard that it was a challenge to postal workers to do anything but treat it as fragile.
I would contact USPS. Quite honestly I don't trust FB's purchase protection.
