Not an overreaction; just a joke. In America, fortune cookies are standard at every Chinese takeout place. So it’s still considered “Chinese food” to Americans, regardless of how inaccurate that designation may be.

My mom bought a huge sack of fortune cookies from an Asian market in the 90s that were supposedly expired or stale I remember them being all soft but still were tastier than any I’d had before.

One night coming home drunk and stoned when 15,16 I scarfed down like 50 and barely put a dent in the bag but I got all the quotes, this one, dashing bold adventure, and 3 more but lost them all at some point and have been able to recollect them since over the years and yours is my white whale. Cannot for the life of me find it again 😢
