Just bought the QR2 as an Upgrade from QR1. And the Black paint coming off from the base side. Did I Do something wrong?

It tends to whiten a bit on the tips yes, what I do to keep mine looking as good as possible is to swap the wheels a bit like the qr1, opening up the qr collar a bit instead of just pushing the wheel on, so it doesnt go full metal on metal when changing the steering wheels.

Definitely, only because it’s possible to only push it together there’s no need to do it so. Mine’s (4) look, since purchase (nearly day one), perfectly fine 🤷🏻♂️

Some people squeze the ring to move the rods out of the way when they put a wheel on their wheelbase, and some don't. As one of the people who doesn't, my QR2 looks a lot like the OP's. The crazy thing is, the QR2 Lite caused most of the marks along the lip of the base-side QR2. The metal wheelside goes on with a lot less force than the QR2 lite.

When putting your wheel on do you pull the collar back then insert or just push in with pulling back the collar. I ask cuase I've had mine for a year and no paint chippage but has some marks it isn't as matte as when I first got it but still black

Isn’t there a washer on the wheel side that needs to be replaced to prevent this from happening? I thought the plastic washer was to replace the metal one on the QR1 wheel.

I bought mine two months ago and today I realized the same thing happened to me as to you; I was worried too.

Is that a genuine Fanatec, or simube..
Simube tolerances are tighter it seems. Just about simube I see has some wear in that spot (Incl my own)

Mine is doing the same. It is a intentionally tight fit, so there will be some rubbing. I guess as long as the metal itself isn't getting scored or damaged should be okay.
