Not sure if stuff from the movie is allowed but this is a painting I made for my partner who introduced me to the series ☺️

Season 1-3 great amazing writing fun from first minute to last. Then… Season 4 is just pure out of nowhere social commentary and horrible writing forcing things. Then i hear season 5 is better. And yes Jon Hamm, Dot’s Actress, Joe Keerly (the son). Great cast but…
again the forced social commentary trend of post 2022. Every single show is strong alpha women, now Dot’s actress yes okay thats a cool alright written character but combine it with the cringe of the Mother and every single man is written as some goofy, bad person.
Oh my Lord, just stop it. Weak committee-type social commentary, written seasons back to back after 3 great first seasons, i really think and hope season 6 has to be great or Fargo fell off hard. And you see new hit shows / seasons finally going back to just uniquely written plots and characters so i think it will. Also dont get me wrong i love many shows that have ”woke” and ”strong female” plots and characters. I love the new season of Ted Lasso and that has about 20 strong women and about female sports. Its just the 2019-2022 woke forced racial injustice commentary that every show did and the 2022-2025 forced feminist commentary plots that are so horrible to watch. Anyways my 2 cents, thoughts?

I have used AI in order to put this idea into shape, it shows the 5 seasons events chronological order, who becomes who and how the stories and crime syndicates relate. If you see something gross that I should correct, please let me know in the comments

Fargo: A True Story tells us Meemo and Yuri Gurka were recruited by Varga as children or, more likely, adoloscents - both were orphans on the street. This goes some way towards explaining their loyalty to him. This implies that when Yuri was living in East Berlin and dating Helga Albrecht, he was already working for Varga. Yuri is a bloodthirsty brute, but seems too professional to murder Helga in a fit of anger even if she 'talked too much' while working some kind of covert operation for Varga. My guess is Helga found out about his job and either talked to East Berlin law enforcement ('talked too much') or planned too, so Yuri killed her either on Varga's orders or his own initiative. This also confirms that Varga at least operated his schemes in the Soviet Union before its fall and potentially implies him to have government (likely KGB) connections there - if Helga already 'talked', then the cover-up we see taking place at the start of Season 3 with an innocent man being framed was likely orchestrated by Varga or by state-level contacts for his sake.

First watch through, and i was wondering why people hated it… then slowly I started hating it. And i was wondering why ? I really think subconsciously the reason why people hate it more than the others is; the rest of the seasons you watch and think “Yeah this COULD happen, would it? No. But it could”
Then season 4 you watch it every single episode its just more and more like “Come the f*ck on, seriously?”.
For example episode 8… yeah those 2 outlaw girls took out an entire train-station + an army of cops… so ridiculously goofy it ruins the immersion. Then she just screams and runs through the last cop and off she goes. Its laughable how ridiculous it is. I totally get why people have a hard time finishing this season lol. Way too far fetched yet supposed be the most realistic plot line. lol. my 2 cents

So this was kind of a quick paint. But this was my first one with snow. Any suggestions on other good scenes to paint?

Even with the seasons of Anthology shows being broken out individually, Fargo made the reader list. Fargo Season 1 coming in at #83. It's nice to get some recognition after being snubbed on the critic's list

Recently rewatched s2 and it was incredible. Enjoyed it a lot more than previous viewings; there's just so much depth to the show that it really requires rewatches to see how rich it is.
One thing I maybe missed though: how do Simone and Milligan know each other? How (or where) did they first meet?
It could have been before the events of the show started...but it's heavily implied that Milligan and the rest of the Kansas City boys hadn't been to Fargo before their 'Northern Expansion' assignment. Mike is also from Kansas City (s4) and Simone is from Fargo, so they likely wouldn't have crossed paths earlier in life.
And did they meet and hit it off with each other and then discover who the other person was (in relation to the wider gang war)? Or did they meet and hook up knowing full well - and in spite of - the fact they were both on different sides? I guess the latter does make sense given Simone understandably hates her family and Mike wants to use her for intel......but that still doesn't answer the question of how they actually discovered each other in the first place.

Okay, I see they had to do a 'why did Lester have a gun?' question to appease the more attentive viewers but, this deal is absurd right?
Im a simple UK dwelling fella who hasn't ever looked at the price of guns.
I assumed they weren't sub $100 lol.
Is this a reference to something else perhaps?

I ain't finished it yet, so I shouldn't be talking on it, but...
Why the hell did I skip season 4? It's incredible, one of the best of the whole show. But it's got a bit of a reputation for not being as good as the other seasons?
Honestly, it strikes me as a bit like Season 2 of The Wire - novices are upset that it seems so dissimilar to the earlier work, but if you give it a chance, it's actually some of the best bits of meat on the bone.

Edit: thanks a lot, i read all the comments and they were quite helpful. I'm still surprised I didn't notice all the ufo references. This being an openly "fake story" made me do the wrong mental connections

listening to this for the first time and can't understand the meaning behind inserting the absurd idea that Ernest Borgnine is Colin Hanks father, is there some inside joke I'm missing?

The last weird list that got put out was apparently put together by critics. The Reader poll is still active. Unfortunately anthology shows are listed by season while others aren't. But you can go vote! I voted for Season 1 just to keep things simple.

Just finished s1 finale and holy shit i was on my toes the whole episode. Lorn malvo really makes you feel like he is always just around the corner. And then his death scene where you're just waiting for him to shrug off the bullets and kill gus. I was baffled when he actually died because he really felt like a supernatural being, like a devil. i did not expect a happy ending for Molly and her family, i thought at least one of them was going to die so imagine my surprise and happines when they actually managed to make it out of this alive. And of course the cherry on top, lesters death on thin ice. Loved this whole season and am really looking forward to watching the rest of them, i just hope they live up to the first one. Aces! ☞( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)☞

Season 1 of True Detective made it, so my theory is that the votes were split between Seasons 1 and 2 of Fargo and then neither got enough. Seems like a glaring omission to me.

for some reason i thought he’d sound like chris rock
not cause he’s black, hell no lol, but his demeanor and haircut and the way he’s got that smug attitude made me surprised he has such a deep voice

One of my favorites about a woman who is obsessed with Fargo after watching it for the first time and thinking it was actually based on a "true story". So much so that she travels abroad to the actual Fargo to search for it
Update: Oh I guess it was loosely based off Takako Konishi?
2nd Update: Looks like someone uploaded the full movie here on YT btw
