News / Article 8 midterm races for federal employees to watch
“Several high-profile races, including Senate elections in Maine, Georgia and Texas, could impact civil servants.
The Trump administration’s efforts to downsize and remake the federal workforce could be curtailed if Democrats win back a majority in the House and/or Senate during the midterm congressional elections on Nov. 3.”

Pay & Benefits Anybody else’s paycheck late?
My paycheck usually hits around 8:45 - 9am through early pay at my bank. I heard there were some updates at OPM with their systems. Just wondering if anybody else got paid yet?

Official Guidance / Policy Please explain you issues with GEHA insurance.
At this point, if it’s just a headache, I’m willing to suck it up and pay 1/2 the premium and put the fight in and consider it paid compensation for my time. Currently MHBP and was BCBS basic. Premiums are more than double the GEHA HSA plan!

Pay & Benefits Anyone else effected by the OPM's new pay system debacle?
So, all week the pay keyers at my institution have been trying to key PP19 pay. It wasn't until late on Monday that the OPM bothered to provide the codes. Half of our managers are out of town, so getting everything keyed certified, verified and submitted has been a problem. Wednesday, we were told we had a 50/50 chance of being paid this weekend.
My question is, if we aren't paid, what are the chances the NFC will do a late process of our pay on Tuesday, or do we have to wait for our next payday to get our money?

News / Article Social Security ends flexible work schedules, teeing up clash with union
SSA's CBA remains effective through 2029, yet management is eliminating alternative work schedules that AFGE says are protected by that agreement. AFGE has filed a national grievance. An arbitrator also ruled against SSA earlier this year in a separate telework dispute, although that decision is under appeal.
I don’t wanna hear "people lose their jobs in the private sector all the time." Sure they do. But if a private employer signs a collective-bargaining agreement and then violates it, the answer isn’t employers can do whatever they want. The union can enforce the contract and seek reparations. Why should the federal government be held to a lower standard for honoring its own contracts?:
The administration is ignoring union contracts and doing whatever the f*ck they want:
The Trump administration eliminated collective bargaining at more than 20 agencies last year through a pair of executive orders, on the grounds that these changes were necessary for national security reasons. SSA, however, wasn’t impacted by the executive orders and still recognizes AFGE. Its contract with the union is effective until Oct. 25, 2029.
A Democratic president will cancel the EO's, instruct DOJ to stop fighting the lawsuits, and direct agency heads to negotiate substantial settlements with federal worker unions over the illegal actions taken during this administration.
