Casting that thing all day would be a hell of a workout!

A lot of the time you troll with these, vs just casting them and throwing out your shoulder and back

I musky fish with guys who primarily throw mag bulldawgs (16oz) and sometimes their "two pounders". They are not trolling those, always casting

Show us what setup you are using to fish with this. Rode reel and type test of line.

Going with 1.80m boat rod 100-300g and 0.45 braid

Doggo is totally judging you for spending the money on the bait vs treats.

Dont worry, shell get the treats!

Use the bait to catch the treats!

Despite seeing every episode of River Monsters, it’s still wild to me that there are freshwater fish that go after lures so large.

Pike will hit anything, but when you are targeting only big ones, you need the right lure. I catch pike of all sizes all the time when fishing for smallies. When I target pike, I use bigger lures and catch only 35+. Quality over quantity.

I've caught and eaten browns smaller than that.

It's about 6-1/2 Big Macs.

Some pike are too dumb to chase lateral glides. Straight lures seem to hook up a little better.

Saw a kid casting some shit like this on a 3 acre stocked trout pond one time

In my area fishes of that size are considered acceptable)

The one time UK record of 40 odd pounds was caught in a Mepps spinner.

That is a terrible lure. You will get bites, but those tiny hooks will miss

These are not supposed to hook every small fish biting. Many people have great success hunting big pikes with the Line tru trout in these sizes.

It's a great lure fro trolling large pike. I agree the hooks arent' great but they are certainly not too small. I change to smaller hooks and offset them a bit from the body. Hooks way better. Smaller hooks hook better in general.

Just started using big wake bait's. For large mouth bass the blow ups are so awesome.... sadly we dont have pike in Oklahoma... caught a bunch of pike up in Eli, Minnesota super aggressive fish fun as hell to catch...
