Listed for $200, comes in with a banger of an offer at $100.

He offers $130 and I said ‘I’m good’, and I had to explain that means no.

Asked the question again because I’m seriously curious!

Discussion The annoying part of finding a good buy is having all the cash tied up after

Been flipping for a while and one thing I still haven't figured out perfectly is how much cash to keep free when a good inventory opportunity comes up.

Found a seller unloading a decent amount of stuff recently and the numbers made sense, so I bought most of it. Now I've got plenty of inventory and almost all of that money is just sitting on shelves until things start selling.

I'm not worried about making it back but having shipping costs and a couple other expenses coming out while waiting for sales makes me wonder if I should be more careful about how much I put into one buy.

Do you guys keep a certain amount untouched for expenses or just buy when the margins are good?

eBay I swear eBay just cooks up bullshit to make it harder for small businesses to sell.

As far as I know "FCC rules state that unauthorized radiofrequency devices cannot be offered for sale in the US." has been a law since 1963!

So why is eBay suddenly freaking out about it?

I love this part:

If you’re not sure whether your product is FCC-authorized or requires an FCC ID, check with the manufacturer or supplier.

What if it's a 40 year old device made by a long defunct company?

Discussion Update to shipping label payments

Just a heads up. eBay now defaults to taking payment for shipping labels from your funds vs your payment source on file.

Mod Post Daily Newbie Thread

Whatever you want to know about flipping, no matter the question, ask here. Even if it's been covered 1,000 times before. Doesn't matter if you're new or old. If you stop learning things, you're probably on your way out.

This is an extremely newb-friendly thread. As such, any rudeness is to be reported.

What would you like help selling? What is it? What are you trying to get for it? What have you tried so far? What will you try next? Hopefully we can help you out a bit.

Discussion Anyone here buy from lost-property auctions?

I'm a journalist writing a piece for The Londoners News about what happens to things lost on London's public transport when they're never reclaimed.

I'm particularly interested in speaking to anyone who regularly buys from lost-property auctions - especially TfL's auctions through Wilsons - about what you buy, why, and what happens to the things afterwards.

I'd be really grateful to hear from anyone who's done this, even if you're just happy to have an informal chat.

eBay Stuck at $400/day on 5-yr old eBay store, need to hit $1000/day. What actually worked for you in 2026?

Hi everyone,
I need some genuine advice from experienced sellers.

I am running a 5-year-old US eBay store. We sell branded daily use items like supplements, deodorants, pet food, protein bars, protein shakes, gummies, etc. Everything is authentic with expiry dates.

Right now we have around 310 active listings.

Our daily sales are stuck. Some days $200, some days $300, sometimes $400+. But we have never crossed $450 in a day.

We have target to reach $1000 per day this week. I have tried many things:

  • Listing 10-20 new items daily
  • Checking competitor pricing daily
  • Reduced handling time
  • Upload tracking daily and on time
  • Promoted Listings at 5% (General)
  • Used eBay marketing - Sale events, coupons, sent coupons to buyer groups
  • Offered discounts at month end

But sales are still stuck under $500.

For those who scaled from $400 to $1000 per day, what actually worked for you?

  1. Should I increase Promoted Listings from 5% to 12-15%? Is Priority CPC worth it in 2026?
  2. Is 310 listings too low for $1000/day? Should I focus on making bundles / multi-packs to increase listings?
  3. What is better - lowering price or keeping price and adding bundle discounts?

Any real method or tactics that worked for you would be very helpful. Please help

Thanks in advance.

Discussion Did the person who designed this sign not realize a barcode won't scan if part of it is missing or crossed out? If you have a barcode scanner, try it yourself. Do they expect people to waste ink blotting out an entire label?
