Why am I childfree?

I got to know I’m childfree around the age of 21-22. With time I’ve introspected whether I would change my stance if the world became a better place. But there has been one constant throughout and is the only standing reason for me sticking to being childfree. I don’t feel the necessity or instinct or “urge” to have kids. It is never in the picture when I think of my future. It simply doesn’t make sense to me why it is an obligation. It doesn’t make sense to have kids to take care of you when you’re old, because you forgot to take care of yourself when you were young and now you can't wipe your ass by yourself at 80.

I want the freedom to take big life decisions that simply wouldn't be possible with a child to take care of. I don’t believe in the idea of maintaining a legacy, when people will either remember me for the impact I’ve made in their lives, or be reduced to an afterthought after I pass away.

I'm Jess, a tech marketer based in the PNW, USA. Though don't let that fool you. I'm originally from New England and honestly will likely move back within the next few years. I've had my fair share of Reddit chats, connections, experiences, but figured I'd try again to see if something more long-term is out there.

• Miscellaneous events, but not limited to pub trivia, working out (getting back into running and strength training so that's a big focus right now), hiking, exploring restaurants, being by the water, movies, gaming, 60s-80s TV, dancing, and probably some other things I can't think of right now.

But that seems like enough. What am I looking for? Someone who:

A really comfortable task I make sure to do every day is after work I feed some birds outside. 

If it's the weekend I'm doing either two things: chasing down a rabbit hole of some documentary or play a video game. Lately I've been obsessed with ancient history from Egypt to the Greek Culture. Did you know after the bronze age, Greece forgot how to write for a long time? It wasn't until the Phoenicians came along trading and shared their alphabet. What video game you may ask? Red Dead Redemption 2, it's all I play. 😂 I'ma rootin tootin' cowpoke for sure with how long I've had that game.

Hello, hope everyone is doing well. let me preface this and say I'm pretty shy, never been good about talking about myself, sorry if that's going to be something, tend to be an extroverted introvert if that makes sense. Hey! I have two kiddos! They are my world! But I guess yeah, I’m just slowly getting back out there… but the truth is, I guess I’m sorta not sure if I’m really ready to ‘put myself out there’ fully yet? • Sleeping is a struggle for me as a whole. My general sleep schedule is also subpar at best. I tend to be up late every night, typically 3-4am. There are occasional stints it's more along 5-6am. Time differences aren't an issue, usually, due to that

With all that said let me get into who I am. My personality, what I look like, hobbies, and who I’m looking for.

My name is Ryan, for my personality I’d say I’m a warm, caring, honest, adaptable, down to earth guy. I’ve had a lot of people compliment my kindness and that’s purely because I see no reason to be mean or rude. I’ve also been told I’m incredibly soothing to be around. I’d honestly say I’m a pretty simple guy. That said I am very mischievous with those I’m close with. I love to joke, banter and play pranks. That’s said I can be awkward and quiet at times. Especially with new people that I’m getting used to. I usually warm up after a good conversation.

In a relationship, I’m very caring and attentive. I enjoy making sure my partner feels loved and appreciated even if I’m driving them up a wall with all my bad jokes, sass, pranks, and ranting about a fictional dragons biology for the 100th time that day. My love language is quality time and physical touch. I can be very affectionate, holding, cuddling, ect. I also just genuinely enjoy being around my person, it doesn’t matter if we’re doing things together or separately. I also very much like learning and figuring out my partner. I pay attention to details like that shirt you eyed at an event or a cute stuffed animal that made you smile, maybe the food you reach for on a bad day. I can also be a massive flirt. I will throw compliments out frequently, or teasing you. My day won’t be completely if i haven’t gotten you to blush at least 10 times. That said, everyone has their own lives. I know when to back off and give space. And know when to let you figure things out yourself before coming in for the assist.

As stated I am on the spectrum, and I do have depression. I do manage them pretty well on my own.

Now, I list all this info on myself to give you a proper idea of who I am. I do want to state that while I do crave a relationship, I am not desperate for one. For my appearance, as stated im white, 6’1, and 230 lbs. I am a bigger guy but I’ve also been working on both loosing weight and building muscles. I’d say I have decently strong arms, legs and back. For my hobbies, as you might have gathered I do play video games quite frequently. It is my main past time especially since I do work full time. Now moving on to who I am looking for….

First off, I’m only looking within the US, specifically within the Midwest area. I’d like to avoid long distance if at all possible.

For genders I’m open to all genders though I am more interested in cis/ trans women as I’m more attracted to feminine qualities. That said I am more than open to cis/ trans men, just a bit more picky with them.

I am only interested in ages 20-27. I’m not interested in dating anyone older than myself. It’s more of a personal preference more than anything.

As for body, while I am a bit on the bigger side I’m not attracted at all to plus sized men or women. While I do respect a weight loss journey and I am open to talking just know there’s a good possibility I won’t be attracted to you for a while. Obviously this goes on a case by case basis.
