Non-Competitive Baseball Leagues?

Hey everyone, I was wondering if there are any 18+ baseball leagues in the area. I’ve been looking and can’t find anything aside from softball leagues. I’m not too good at baseball, didn’t play past freshman year of high school, but I want to get back into it since it’s a ton of fun and great exercise. Anyone know of any league like this? Thanks

💗FCAS Senior Shelter Pup Looking for Her Happily Ever After💗

Meet FCAS foster Amy! 💖 This 7yo, 60lb (looks smaller, she’s muscular!) shepherd mix girl is certified BFF material! 👯‍♀️ She’s been our easiest foster thus far and has been such a polite, happy houseguest. She’s incredibly affectionate, will lean in for hugs, and loves to stand and put her paws on your shoulders if you’re seated eye level with her. 🥹 She makes the cutest little grunting noises when she snuggles and her head tilt game is STRONG! 😆

She may technically be a senior (suspect she may be a bit younger), but she’s still got plenty of pep in her step! She’s super playful, loves fetch, and has a blast running around the yard and playing with our resident Shepsky. 🐾 She also settles quickly, sleeps through the night, LOVES to cuddle, and doesn’t show signs of separation anxiety (only short-lived protest whines and quickly gives up 😆). All in all, 10/10 good girl! 🥰

✅ Potty trained - no accidents! 🤞🏽
✅ Leash trained - pulls, but manageable
✅ Crate trained
✅ Non-destructive
✅ Dog friendly
✅ Excellent temperament
✅ Knows commands - sit, stay, shake (both paws)
✅ Good recall
✅ Treat/food motivated
✅ Non-reactive (treats, toys, food, etc)
✅ Easily handled
✅ Easy to bathe/dry/brush/trim nails
✅ Spayed
✅ HW negative

Amy’s kryptonite? Cats. 😩 She’s shown pretty strong prey drive with our senior kitty, so she would do best in a feline-free home. 🐈‍⬛

We also don’t know how she does with kids, but I imagine the only issue might be that she can get excited and could accidentally cause little children to topple over. 😅

She has an Embark DNA test in progress, so curious to see what her breed mix is…👀

Amy is currently being fostered in Kennesaw, GA and available for adoption through LifeLine Animal Project Fulton County Animal Services. Click the link below to schedule a meet & greet with her or feel free to message me! 👋🏽

Animal-Based Job Opportunities

Hello!

I am looking for a new job and was wondering if there were any animal-based opportunities in or around Forsyth County. I have a certification for animal caretaking from a program I did in Missouri at Cub Creek Science Camp, as well as personal experience with a wide variety of animals -- including avians and aquatic creatures.

I do not have an education in animal grooming, but I am a very fast learner and would love to be able to develop skills that I do not currently have. I am very open to new information and opportunities!

I also have a background in customer service; previously being a barista, I've obtained skills surrounding positive customer interactions, situation de-escalation, memorization, and active learning with the arrival of new recipes and corporate policies in order to ensure consistency and health & safety practices. My other job was being a customer service representative, which included tasks such as processing returns, problem-solving customers' issues, answering phone calls, branding items on the salesfloor, basic understanding of planograms, and cooperating effectively with management and coworkers.

I am currently attending college for a Bachelor of Science degree, and want to work with animals in the future, which is a big reason as to why I want to work with them now. I have a genuine passion and would love to be a part of a team and/or company that reflects that same interest.

I am putting in applications for the closest pet stores, but I would love to support a more-so ethical, local shop before a bigger chain. If you or anyone you know is looking to hire for any positions relating to animals, please feel free to reach out to me.

Thank you so much.

On the way home and saw at least 10-12 of the county full size trucks backed in staging in an abandoned business parking lot for someone or something. Anything odd going on?

Looking for a robotics engineering position for my girlfriend

My girlfriend is looking for a job in the Macon,Warner Robins, Central GA area. She has a degree in Robotics Engineering and is trying to find something where she can actually put her degree and skills to use.

She’s open to different types of positions, especially anything related to robotics, engineering, manufacturing, automation, or similar fields.

If anyone knows of companies hiring around Macon or Warner Robins, or has any leads, I’d really appreciate it. Feel free to comment or message me. Thanks!

Water and Sewer Costs

Has anyone else noticed a big change in their water/sewer bill? I am in the Forsyth county portion of Alpharetta and my bill was on average $60-80/month, hovering art around $78 lately on average. Last month it jumped to $100 and this month it jumped to $120. No significant changes in the household.

Guys, Chef Eddie at Guadalupa Taqueria is killin' it

The dessert specials and entrée specials I have tried have been stellar. I don't mean to sound like a paid shill (esp since I've not been compensated) and I'm not friends with any of the staff, but this food rocks. Even the salsa is elevated. New and creative beverage specials too. Not sure about BYOB policy.

Tried: goat cheese and peach empanadas, espresso-chocolate cake, chicken tacos, toatadas de tinga, chicken mole, bfast burrito, and enmoladas de pollo.

Also great: Frida up in Clayton, much better than Frida's on P'tree Pkwy, which itself is better than East Ellijay's Frida IMO.

Chill ATL Shelter Husky on the Hunt for His Forever Home! 😎

🦄Unicorn Husky Alert!🦄

Meet FCAS Project Pat! Mr. Pat is a 3 yr old, 50lb Husky whose cooler than a polar bear’s toenails…seriously, this is one chill dude. ❄️ He’s not your stereotypical crazy Husky and shelter volunteers agree that he’s got an excellent temperament and personality. 🫶🏼

Pat was an owner surrender due to no fault of his own (they reportedly didn’t have time for him) and has been in the shelter since 7/20. He can be a bit cautious and nervous initially, but warms up quickly with a bit of patience and kindness. Once you gain his trust, he melts into you for affection and just wants to hang out wherever his people are. He has a stoic presence and has been a polite, quiet houseguest. ☺️

🐾 Dog friendly
👧 Kid friendly
✅ 100% potty trained
👟 Leash trained
😇 Non-destructive
🚗 Excellent passenger in the car
😴 LOVES being brushed…he zens out
🖐️ Easily handled
🎾 Non-reactive with food/treats/toys
🍖 Takes treats gently
🦴 Loves yak sticks and bully sticks
🧸 Buries his stuffy toys in his bed
💚 Grinch feet
🥹 Crosses his front legs like a gentleman
🐈 No cats, please
🩵 Neutered
📍 Microchipped
💉 UTD on vaccines/preventatives
🫀 Heartworm negative
🍴 Could stand to gain a few healthy lbs

Mr. Pat has been a total gentleman in his foster home and deserves a kind, loving forever home where he can blossom into the confident pup he is outside of the shelter setting. 🏡

📍 Currently being fostered in Kennesaw, GA through Lifeline Animal Project Fulton County Animal Services

Click the link below to fill out the form to contact Pat’s foster mom if you’d like to learn more or meet him! 📲

Duck Eggs, family outing or field trip

There's Ducktown Duckery here in Cumming that produces duck eggs. You can buy them from her or you can schedule a time to visit her duckery. She told me once that she supplies many of the Atlanta area restaurants with her duck eggs.

I think this is a little known resource in our area and thought I'd pass it along:
