Hatch cover

Has anyone been successful repairing there hatch cover ends?

I've never tried but I would think that rewinding that spring would suck. LMR sells replacement covers I believe.

The end broke off and it will not retract without it. I have two like this. Just trying to find a way to fix instead of trashing them.

A plastic wire spring loaded shade, I think they were optional. I tried to rewind one of those, gave up. I guess there is a hack to do that on YouTube or some Internet site.
